Rosemary from Pueblo, Colorado writes

How can I use Bonide Systemic Granules Insect Control for plants that fill the pot?

For example, my aloe plants are cheek-by-jowl and fill the plant pot, I literally can't get it to dirt. Can I mix it with water and water from the top? Water from below? I have some house plants where I can't get it the dirt because the stalks of the plant fill the top of the pot

Answer:

The Bonide Systemic Granules Insect Control need to be applied directly to the soil and then watered in; it cannot be diluted and water and then applied. If the plants are so crowded in the pots that you cannot reach the soil, then you may need to repot your plants so they can have enough space to grow and enough soil to get the nutrients they need. Keep in mind that fungus gnats will breed in soil that is overly moist, so be sure to let your plants drain and to refrain from overwatering.
