In the specific application of a soil treatment for termites, Dominion 2L can last 7 years because it is bonding to the soil particles to provide the long term barrier to the home. On the shelf the concentrate could last beyond 3-5 years, but testing is only done up to that point and highest efficacy when mixed will happen within that time frame. How well the bottle is stored plays a large factor in its efficacy over time. So while it has the molecules of the soil to bond to for the long term protection outdoors, in the solution its more susceptible to the separation and break down of the inert ingredients. This is also why its always recommended to shake bottles thoroughly before mixing to make sure the components are being correctly mixed into solution for each application.
