How good and safe is this product?

I have a few concerns about using any chemicals in my home for health/safety reasons. 1. How safe around small children? I have a 2 year old. 2. If sprayed in cabinets and pantries, will I need to wash everything that as set on the shelves after they have dried to not come in contact with it ourselves? 3. Is there a strong odor? 4. How long does it take to dry?

Answer:

Gentrol IGR has a mild petroleum solvent odor and is completely safe for kids once the product has dried. When applying using a hand pump sprayer, it usually takes 1-3 hours to dry and the kids would need to be out of the room while spraying. When treating in cabinet & pantry areas, follow the instructions per label listed below. Pantry/Cabinets, Small Food Storage Areas: Apply as a surface spray, crack and crevice spray, or spot treatment to pantry and cupboard shelves or other areas where food is stored. Prior to spraying, remove all food containers and foodstuffs. Do not replace food containers or foodstuffs until spray has dried. Do not store food in open containers in treated pantries. Destroy any infested food packages to ensure proper control.
