How long do I need to wait after application of Weed B Gon Chickweed Clover & Oxalis Killer to transplant St Augustine sprigs?

I applied Weed b Gon “chickweed, Clover” to my St Augustine lawn 2 weeks ago and it appears to have killed most of the grass. I did not read the “fine print”, only the label “won't harm the lawn - guaranteed”. OK, damage done. Now, how long do I need to wait to plan St Augustine sprigs? Would it help to water the lawn and try to dilute the Weed b Gon? Your advise please.

Answer:

Ortho Weed B Gon Chickweed Clover & Oxalis Killer For Lawns states on the label that it is only for use on Buffalo, Fescues, Kentucky Blue, Rye and Zoysia.  It is not labeled or intended to be used on St Augustine or other warm season turf as listed on the label.  Since it was applied we would recommend contacting the manufacturer directly regarding timing to sprig and further advice.  They can be reached at 800-225-2883.
