It will be important to target weeds that are actively growing with a post-emergent such as Ferti-lome Weed Free Zone before aerating. After 2 weeks from the application of Weed Free Zone, you could then reseed and/or aerate the lawn. If applying a pre emergent, then you would want to aerate prior to pre-emergent applications so you are not disturbing any chemical barrier and the product reaches the soil prior to weed germination.
