How many months of control will Sulfentrazone 4SC Select Herbicide provide when applied for pre emergent control of sedges in a bermudagrass lawn?

Answer:

Sulfentrazone 4SC is not used as a true pre-emergent it only has pre-emergent properties when applied as a post. The control of listed germinating weed species will be reduced when rain or irrigation follows a period of dry weather but it will not provide long term true pre-emergent control for an extended amount of time. Pennant Magnum is one of the only selective pre emergents labeled for annual sedge and yellow nutsedge, otherwise you would treat actively growing nutsedge with a post emergent such as Sedgehammer or Dismiss NXT.  In general, using Dimension 2EW or Prodiamine 65 WDG for all around pre emergent control will help improve the overall health of your lawn therefore reducing the conditions for weeds to thrive.
