How often can I safely apply Hi-Yield Grass Killer Post-Emergent Herbicide to my Centipede lawn to control torpedo grass?

I sprayed to control torpedo grass but have not seen any results after a few days. I wanted to know if I can spray again or if I should wait a certain number of days before reapplying. Also, the label lists using 2 tbsp per gallon on the chart but recommends 1 tbsp per gallon elsewhere. Is it safe to use the 2 tbsp amount on Centipede?

Answer:

Hi-Yield Grass Killer Post-Emergent Herbicide is not specifically labeled for torpedograss. Solitare Herbicide is labeled to suppress torpedograss in centipede lawns, but may not eradicate it completely. Most of the herbicides on the market will only suppress the torpedograss for a short time. It is recommended to spot treat the torpedo grass with a non-selective herbicide such as Round Up Quick Pro and then reseed or sod in the treated areas.
