How quick does Contrac All-Weather Blox work?

I believe we have 1 rat in our basement. I've found it's burrow in our wall. Set a contrac blox outside the borrow, disappeared overnight. Placed two more in the same spot and they were untouched for 2 nights now. Also, snap traps that were constantly having the bait taken off them and not triggering are also no longer being emptied of bait. Is it possible the rat died after 24hrs and only eating one block? Don't want to risk taking that part of the wall down and disturb his burrow to have the rat move to a new location and die if I'm not quick enough to catch him once I open the wall.

Answer:

The Contrac All-Weather Blox Rodenticide is an anti-coagulant, which means that once the rat has eaten this product, they begin to bleed to death from the inside.  The rat first becomes sick, and then grows tired and weak and passes in its sleep.  It can take anywhere from a few hours to a few days depending on how much the rat has eaten.
