Geoffrey from Liverpool, New York writes

How soon can apply Tenacity Herbicide after/between rainfall?

I live in upstate NY (Liverpool). We've gotten a bunch of rain Lately. I installed a roll of turf 3 weeks ago and it has established itself well. I unfortunately there is a about a 1-foot square section of crabgrass immediately next to it. My questions: How soon can apply after/between rainfall events? Can I apply tenacity to this area where newish turf and crabgrass meet? I also have pathed a few spots around the awn where I placed soil and seed. I have new grass that appears ready for mowing and some areas that have just started sprouting. I plan to avoid these patches until they are mowed a couple times. Any advice about these would be greatly appreciated.

Answer:

As stated on the product label of Tenacity, this product should be applied when there is no rain in the forecast for at least 48 hours. "If rainfall (0.15 inches) has not occurred within 10 days after preemergence application, activate with 0.15 inches of irrigation." This product can be applied to established, tolerable turf types. Please be sure to review the product label for more information and complete application instructions.
