Hey, I'm using talstar p mixed at 1 ounce per gallon and excite r mixed at a half ounce per gallon to control mosquitoes. It works great for two weeks but dies out quickly on the 14 day mark. I'm using a stihl mist blower for application and treat all the bushes, eaves, and shaded areas. Am I doing something wrong to not get 3 weeks out of the product like mosquito control companies do?
Talstar will normally provide a 30 day residual under normal conditions, average rainfall and sunlight. More rainfall or direct sunlight will contribute to the degration of the active ingredient faster than anticipated. Although, incorporating a insecticide "sticker" such as Hi Yield Spreader Sticker as a Talstar additive may increase the longevity of the active ingredient. You also have the option to use micro-encapsulated insecticides such as Cy Kick CS or Demand CS which will hold up much longer in direct sunlight and above average rainfall conditions.
