    Q
Can i use Image Kills Nutsedge Concentrate on vinca vine for weed control?
    A

Image Kills Nutsedge Concentrate is not list vinca vine on the product label as tolerant or that it will control it.

If you are wanting to treat grassy weeds in an areas where vinca vine is desired, Grass Out Max is labeled safe for vinca and will treat grassy weeds. It is highly recommended that you use a surfactant with this product. Any broadleaf weeds will need to be hand pulled or directly treated with a non selective like Roundup QuickPro

Bonide Stump Out while not labeled to kill vinca will likely due so based on its active ingredients and its ability to control any broadleaf or vine type plants. For best results, we recommend cutting the vine first and following the Stump Treatment directions per the product label. You can also use a non selective glyphosate like Roundup QuickPro in the same method. If new vinca vinces sprout, reapply. Remove a vinca vine manually, which is easier to do when the soil is moist.

    Q
Is Image Kills Nutsedge Concentrate effective to treat actively growing weeds in winter?
    A

Image Kills Nutsedge Concentrate can be applied if temperatures are 60 degrees or more consecutively for a few days and the labeled weeds are actively growing.

When temperatures are below 60 degrees, weeds will uptake the herbicide at a slower rate and may not be as effective as applying during warmer temperatures between 65 to 85 degrees.

    Q
When should Image Kills Nutsedge Concentrate be applied when transitioning from ryegrass to bermuda in the spring?
I want to speed up my rye to bermuda transition in the spring time, I plan on putting down bermuda seed in the spring time, if I plan on doing that should I put this concentrate stuff out when the weather is right for bermuda to come out of dormancy, 3 weeks before it comes out or 6 weeks before it comes out of dormancy.
    A

Image Kills Nutsedge Concentrate should only be applied to established lawns that have been mowed at least twice or 4 weeks after seeding, whichever comes first.

Do not apply herbicides when bermuda is transitioning in/out of dormancy. You need to wait until full green up or it’s completely dormant (depending on the herbicide).

For more specific timing information, we recommend contacting the Master Gardener with the County Cooperative Extension office as they are local to your area.

    Q
Can Image for Weeds Southern Lawn (broadleaf weeds) and Image Kills Nutsedge be tank mixed together and applied to St. Augustine?
Can these be tank mixed together for one application or should I wait 6 weeks between applying one or the other?
    A

Image Kills Nutsedge Concentrate is labeled to control some broadleaf weeds as well as grassy weeds and nutsedge so it may work for the broadleaf weeds you are targeting. Refer to the product label for a list of weeds it will control.

Unfortunately, since we do not carry Image for Weeds Southern Lawn Weed Killer for St. Augustinegrass and Centipedegrass Concentrate (broadleaf weeds), we would not be able to advise on tank mixing with Image Kills Nutsedge.

Please contact the manufacturer directly through their website for information regarding tank mixing their 2 products togehter.

  • Asked by Smudge from Hoover Al

    Q
Is the application rate for Image Kills Nutsedge Concentrate the same as the Image Kills Nutsedge Ready to Spray product?
Can I used the RTS product in a hand pump sprayer like I would the concentrate version?
    A

Image Kills Nutsedge Concentrate and Image Kills Nutsedge Ready to Spray do have the same percentage of active ingredient however the typically, Ready to Spray formulations are not the same as the concentrate products.

Since the RTS product label does not provide instructions for applying using a hand pump sprayer or how to dilute with water, we cannot advise for this type of application.

    Q
Does Image Kills Nutsedge Concentrate have high tendency for spray drift like other 2,4-D products?
I used a surfactant and set nozzle to Spray larger droplets.
    A

Image Kills Nutsedge Concentrate can injure vegetables, flowers and unlabeled ornamental shrubs and plants per the product label. You will want to avoid applications within the drip line of desirable plants and if winds are more than 10mph as injury may result to desirable vegetation.

A surfactant is not recommended per the product label therefore a small test application would be advised before broadcast spraying or applying near desirables.

    Q
Applied Image Kills Nutsedge Concentrate to my fescue lawn, is there anything I can do to quicken a repair and reseeding?
I recently moved and couldn't locate my Sedgehammer. I found some Image Kills Nutsedge in my garage, no idea when it was bought and what I was going to target with it. Needless to say applying to my cool season, primarily Fescue lawn, had horrific results. To make matters worse I did a week or 2 before overseeing. No surprise I've had poor result. After 6 six weeks will perennial ryegrass germinate in the damaged areas? Is there anything I can do to try to improve results?
    A

In this situation we would recommend contacting the manufacture of Image Kills Nutsedge Concentrate and speak with them directly for options or suggestions on or if anything can be done to help the turf recover.

The manufacturer Ambrands can be reached at (800) 265-0761.
