Fertilizers for Ornamental Indoor Plants

Indoor plants need fertilizer just like outdoor plants, since all plants need the same basic nutrients to thrive. Since indoor plants receive less light and have limited space compared to outdoor plants, they have different fertilizer requirements. We carry fertilizer for ornamental indoor plants that will give your plants the right nutrients to thrive all year round.

Indoor plants get less light than outdoor plants, so generally they grow slower, and need less added nutrients than outdoor plants, which have to contend with weather, pests, and other stresses. This means that generally, less fertilizer needs to be used on indoor plants overall.  They still rely on the added nutrients fertilizer provides, just not as much.

Complete fertilizers, or fertilizers that have nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, are a good choice for indoor plants. There are many formulas of complete fertilizers available, so choose carefully. Consider what type of plant you want to fertilize and what that plant needs to thrive, and choose a formula that will give your plant just enough of what it needs to avoid overfertilization.
