Is Acephate Pro 75 SP Insecticide a good treatment for gloomy scale?

Answer:

No, Acephate Pro 75 SP Insecticide is only labeled to be used to mound treat for fire ants.  To treat trees with a systemic insecticide for sucking pests such as aphids, scale, or whiteflies, you would use 0.1 to 0.4 ounces of Dominion 2L per inch of trunk diameter and apply this as a drench around the base of the tree and root system. Please see the product label for complete application instructions.  You will treat first with a systemic product like Dominion 2L before pests are active and then follow up with a suffocant product such as Bonide Neem Oil Concentrate if they are currently active.
