Aloe Heal Veterinary Cream is safe when used as directed on the label which states to cover the affected and surrounding areas with Aloe Heal and bandage lightly if possible with several layers of gauze. Apply several times daily for best results.  So this would limit/prevent any chance of ingestion when applied as directed.  You may also reach out to your vet for the best advice on if safe if accidential ingestion occurs.
