Is Blindside a good option for a Midwestern KBG, Rye lawn?

Or is something like Tenacity a better bet? Looking for a broad spectrun herbicide, that will also get rid of Sedges. I am worried that it Blindside may not be the best option for my cool season turf, but cannot find a herbicide that seems to be as broad and affective.

Answer:

Blindside Herbicide WDG is not safe to use on ryegrass and some other cool-season turf; it is primarily for use on warm-season grasses. A similar product for use on cool-season turf is Solitare WSL or Solitare WDG. Solitare contains Sulfentrazone to target broadleaf weeds and sedges, plus Quinclorac to target grassy weeds like crabgrass. If you only need the broadleaf weed and sedge control, then you can use Dismiss Herbicide, which contains only the sulfentrazone. Tenacity is a uniqe herbicide in that it has both pre-emergent and post-emergent properties, so it may be especially useful if you need a product to apply at the same time as seeding. Tenacity will target yellow nutsedge but not purple nutsedge or kyllinga.
