Is Eagle 20EW an EBI (ergosterol biosynthesis inhibiting) Fungicide, and can it treat Pink Rot in King Palm?

Trying to find a fungicide to treat Pink Rot in 2 King Palms. My arborist said an EBI (ergosterol biosynthesis inhibiting) fungicide should provide results. Would Eagle 20EW work as I can not locate any Thiophanate Methyl-based Fungicides locally or online.

Answer:

Eagle 20EW is a Group 3 Fungicide, which are sterol biosynthesis inhibitors. This likely would not treat Pink Rot in your King Palm trees, though, since pink rot is generally a secondary issue on trees and other plants that are already weaked from other stressors. We do sell 3336F Fungicide which contains Thiophanate-methyl and it can be applied as a drench, foliar drip, or a foliar spray. A fungicide could be applied after thorough pruning of infected plant parts to help prevent new damage to the palms. This article from your Extension has excellent information about pink rot and the proper care for preventing it.
