The Fertilome Tree and Shrub Food 19-8-10 should pose no threat to birds once watered in and absorbed by the plants. Typically birds will stay out of the area while you are treating and as long as your presence is nearby. Once the surface of the soil has dried there would be no risk of harm at all.
