Is Gordons Ornamec Over-The-Top Grass Herbicide safe with naupaka (Scaevola taccada)?

We are building on the windward side of Oahu and have an established patch of naupaka where we'd like to remove the grass. Issues I can think of are: (1) available in Hawaii? (2) safe for shoreline? (3) safe for naupaka?

Answer:

Gordons Ornamec Over-The-Top Grass Herbicide is toxic to fish and should not be applied to shorelines and is not labled for naupaka. We recommend that you consult with you local cooperative extension office for an alternate recommendation.
