Katie from Gainesville, Ga writes

Is Pastora the the correct choice for renovating my pasture?

I have a lot of fescue mixed with lots of weeds, including fox tail as well as brings poison oak/ivy, and sumac I need to basically kill everything and start over as I only want Bermuda on my small 4 acre pasture. Should I add triclopyr for the stemmy/woody invaders? How long before I can replant? I want to replant with the Bermuda in late April or early May. Please advise. I am in N.E. GA.

Answer:

Since Pastora Herbicide is a pre- and post-emergent, it would be best to wait at least 1 year to plant in the area, though the label states it can remain in the soil for up to 34 months. A non-selective product containing glyphosate can be applied to growing weeds/grasses a couple of weeks prior to planting in the area.
