Nathan from Pflugerville, Tx writes

Is Prodiamine safe for St. Augustine and are there temperature restrictions for lawns in central Texas?

Answer:

Yes, you can use Prodiamine 65 WDG on established St. Augustine grass. Keep in mind that this is a pre-emergent herbicide only, so it will not kill any existing weeds. You should be applying pre-emergent in early Spring before soil temps reach 55 degrees for crabgrass prevention, and then in late Summer/Fall as temperatures drop before they reach about 60 degrees. Please let us know if you need assistance selecting a post-emergent herbicide.
