Is Propiconazole 14.3 fungicide a good product to rotate with when using Headway G fungicide?

I'm treating gray leaf spot and brown patch in a tall fescue lawn. Would Propiconazole 14.3 be a good rotation product to use with Headway G fungicide ? Are they both a different class ? I've used Cleary's 3336F previously, but the mixture rate on the Clearly's is high, so I go thru a bottle quite fast. I'm looking for an alternative. Thank you.

Answer:

The product label of Propiconazole 14.3 states, "Begin applications in May or June before disease is present. Tank mix with a registered contact fungicide labeled for brown patch control at the label rate. Under conditions of high temperatures and high humidity, use the higher rates of Quali-Pro Propiconazole 14.3 and shorter application intervals." The label also states in regards to Gray Leafspot, "Apply when conditions are favorable for disease development. If using the 1 fl. oz. per 1000 sq. ft. rate, tank mix with a registered contact fungicide at the label rate." An example of a contact fungicide labeled for both of these diseases is Daconil Zn Flowable Fungicide. Please be sure to review the product label for more information before use.

However, Propiconazole 14.3 has one of the same active ingredients as Headway G Fungicide. When rotating fungicides, you want to use products that contain different active ingredients so that you are preventing any resistance issues. Instead, you may use a product like Eagle 20EW Specialty Fungicide to rotate with. This product you will also need to tank mix with a contact fungicide, though, for control. Please be sure to review the product label for more information and complete application instructions.
