Rob from Mosinee, Wi writes

Is there a time (like after the frost leaves the ground) to start spraying Permethrin SFR in the Spring?

I don't want to waste product by applying too early but want to spray before the frogs and toads start appearing.

Answer:

You do not need to apply insecticides such as Permethrin SFR before insects are active, which is usually when you get consistent daytime temperatures of about 55-60 degrees. If you tend to see overwintering pests like stink bugs or boxelder bugs, then keep an eye on your weather forecast and apply as soon as you get a jump in temperatures on a sunny day.
