Per the product label, Marathon II can be used in greenhouses but does not specifically list basil.
Marathon II is not labeled for marijuana use. We recommend reaching out to your local Dept of AG for a list of approved products.
Marathon II Insecticide is mixed at 0.45 to 0.6 fl. oz. per 1000 sq ft which is usually to a gallon of water. Please refer to the product label for complete instructions.
According to the Soil Drench & Irrigation Chart on page 9 of the product label for a 3 Gallon Pot, Marathon II Insecticide would treat 220-165 pots at the labeled rate of 1.7 fl oz in sufficient water volume to wet the potting medium. To avoid leaching, use 1.7 fl. oz. (50 mL) of Marathon II Insecticide in the appropriate amount of water to treat the number of pots based on the pot size as stated in the table.
If you are only treating a few potted plants, OHP Marathon 1% Granular or Bonide Systemic Granules would be alternatives to treat for root aphids. These products are applied as a topical application directly to the top of the soil, lightly mixed in not to disturb the roots and then watered in with sufficient water volume to move and dissolve the granules into the soil.
For a 3 Gallon Pot, OHP Marathon 1% Granular is applied at 3 2/3 to 7 1/3 level teaspoons per plant and Bonide Systemic Granules, is applied at 1/2 cup per plant. View the full product labels for more information.
