    Q
What is the dilution rate for Martins Permethrin 10% to treat for dogwood borers?
    A

Martins Permethrin 10% does not include tree borers as a target insect on the product label, or application to trees in general, therefore we cannot advise on rates for this treatment. Permethrin SFR 36.8 is labeled for borers and bark beetles on dogwood trees. Per the product label, this is applied at 32 to 64 fl oz per 100 gallons of water (0.32 to 0.64 per gallon / 3.2 to 6.4 fl oz per 10 gallons of water). Apply to the lower branches and trunks prior to adult emergence. T

horough coverage of bark is required for control. Adult emergence varies according to pest species, host tree, environmental conditions and geographic location. Please consult with your local County Cooperative Extension Office for the best timing in your area

    Q
Can I spray the Martins Permethrin 10% on human bedding (mattresses) and carpet?
We have been afflicted with the scabies mite and need to get rid of it.
    A
This product cannot be used on mattresses and can only be used as a light spray on carpets for flea or beetle control indoors. Scabies mites do not infest the home, they are a dermal(skin) problem that must be addressed by a dematologist and the creams or medicines they prescribe. There are not products for scabies mites on mattresses because they do not live on those surfaces. If you are looking for something to spray on the surface as a "just in case" contact kill, you could use Sterifab. All other treatment of scabies will be administered by doctors.

    Q
Can you fog with Martin's Permethrin 10%?
My vet recommended fogging my goats and chickens to rid them of mites and few times a week as needed, and I don't see this type of application listed.
    A

Martin's Permethrin 10% is labeled for mites and fogging poultry houses, swine houses, cattle and horse barns, etc. Per the label, “FOG OR FINE MIST: Apply, directing the spray toward the ceiling and upper corners until the area is filled with mist. Use about 2 ounces per 1000 cubic feet of space. For best results, close doors and windows before spraying and keep closed for 10-15 minutes. Remove animals prior to treatment, ventilate before reoccupying. Dilute 8 ozs. in 6.25 gals. water.”
