    Q
How long can I store the remaining mixture of Martins Permethrin 10% in my sprayer?
    A

You should not store mixed Martins Permethrin 10% or any other insecticide concentrate for longer that 24 hours in a sprayer. Concentrated insecticides will begin to separate which will clog the lines as well as destroy the seals in the sprayer. We recommend mixing a gallon at a time and discarding left over solution.

  • Asked by Alan from Fruita, Colorado
    04/09/2019
    Q
Can Martins Permethrin 10? painted onto large Siberian elm trunk for control of elm seed bugs?
Trying to create zone of death for elm seed bug larvae to cross on their way down the trunk to get water
    A

Martins Permethrin 10% is not labeled to be painted onto tree trunks. You can dilute this product at a rate of 6 oz per gallon of water with a hand-pump or backpack sprayer and then spray around the perimeter of your home to control elm seed bugs. This article from your Colorado Extension has great information about this pest and its life cycle. They suggest treating around your home for the best defense against this pest since the trees will already have populations too established for you to control with insecticides.

  • Asked by Katie from Alabama
    05/24/2016
    Q
Will Martins Permethrin 10% kill scabies and bedbugs indoors?
    A

Martins Permethrin 10% is not labeled to treat either scabies or bed bugs.  Scabies mites live only on/in the skin and we do not carry anything to treat humans. Most folks need to visit their doctor to receive the medication needed to get rid of scabies. You may spray your furniture with a product such as Steri-fab to kill anything on furniture though treating the home for scabies is usually not necessary.  If you need to treat for bed bugs we would recommend using one of our bed bug kits to ensure that you have all of the products necessary for a thorough treatment.  Before beginning any treatment, we would recommend that you get a proper identification of the pest you are dealing with, if you have not already done so, so that you can be sure you are using the right product(s) for your needs.  You can do this by contacting either a pest control company or the local cooperative extension office in your area.

  • Asked by Amanda from Indianapolis, In
    06/19/2014
    Q
Will Martins Permethrin 10% kill carpet beetles in the car? And, is it safe for children after it dries?
    A
We recommend that you get a proper identification of the beetle. It would be extremely odd to have carpet beetles in your car and in your office because they must have a food source that is of animal origin to survive and most cars and business offices do not have such a source. You should collect several samples of the insect and contact your local cooperative extension office to get an insect identification. Starting a treatment program without knowing exactly what you are dealing with is likely to lead to a treatment failure. Once you have a proper identification we would be happy to help advise you of the correct treatment.

    Q
Can I treat my piglets with Martins Permethrin 10%?
I recently bought two piglets they are itching on everything and their skin is red and irritated. Will this kill their mites or lice? If so will it hurt them ?
    A

We would recommend contacting your vet to appropriately diagnose what the issue is on the piglets before applying anything such as Martins Permethrin 10%.  The product is labeled for applying to swine when used as directed but you should be sure that you are treating correctly for the exact issue.
