  • Asked by Alex from Miami, Florida

    Q
How does Martins Viper Insecticide work?
Do ants carry the insecticide back to their colony/nest or does it kill them on the spot only?
    A

Martins Viper Insecticide Concentrate contains cypermethrin as the active ingredient, which is a powerful pyrethroid. This active ingredient will kill the ants that you spray directly with it, as well as ants that contact the treated area after it's dry. Viper will NOT work slowly enough to be carried throughout an ant colony; it attacks the central nervous system of the insects and works relatively quickly. For a non-repellent (slow-kill) application for ants, we would recommend Arilon Insecticide (for use both inside and outside), or Taurus SC (outdoors only).

  • Asked by Sally from Mcdonough, Ga
    06/13/2019
    Q
Can I spray Martins Viper Insecticide under siding and will it stain siding?
I have mud daubers under vinyl siding
    A

Martins Viper Insecticide should dry clear when used as directed on the product label.  That being said it does contain petroleum distillates so can leave an oily sheen behind.  For mud daubers it is best to apply to surfaces where they nest and contact.  If you are able to see a hole where they come and go from it would be best to treat with a dust such as Tempo 1% which would be easier for them to pick up.

    A

A small unused amount of Martins Viper Insecticide can be poured out right along the foundation of the structure you are treating. If you have a large amount of unused product or old product, we recommend that you contact your local city or county sanitation department for proper disposal instructions in your area as they can vary.

  • Asked by J from Middletown, Mo

    Q
Will adding ExciteR to Viper help kill spiders outdoors?
    A

Adding ExciteR to Martins Viper Insecticide only gives you a faster initial knockdow during application on those insects you spray directly.  The Viper is what will leave the residual to continue to kill those that contact a treated area.
