Jennifer from Nashua Nh writes

Mice are entering via our basement bulkhead door, made of galvanized metal. So can't use copper mesh to fill

in the space between the cement foundation and bulkhead base. What else do you recommend? BTW, I hope you reconsider using sticky traps -- they are very cruel and inhumane.

Answer:

Glue traps are not our first recommendation but are necessary in some situations such as childrens hospitals or daycares where baits or snap traps are unaccepatble. We would recommend using tamper resistant bait traps filled with rodenticide to help control the rodent population around your structure and using mouse traps indoors to control those rodents that have already entered indoors.
