    The Milky Spore will not kill cutworms, it only affects Japanese Beetle Grubs.

    Can I mix Milky Spore into a solution to spray it on the lawn? I have a towable sprayer for 3 acres.

    Milky Spore Spreader Mix is a granule product applied dry. You should apply Milky Spore Spreader Mix with a drop spreader in the Spring, Summer, and Fall for 2 years to create the long term residual. Each 20 lb bag of Milky Spore will cover 7000 square feet.

    Can I put the Milky Spore Lawn Spreader Mix down now? It won't rain for three more days. Or should I wait closer until we have the rain?
    On the bag it states to water in within 24 hrs. I have quite a bit to cover so sprinkling would be a problem.

    The manufacturer recommends that the Milky Spore Lawn Spreader Mix be watered in no later than 36-48 hours after application.  If you are not able to use a sprinkler or otherwise irrigate, it would be best to wait until closer to the time you are expecting it to rain in your area.

    Is the Milky Spore Lawn Spreader Mix okay to use before solarization treatment (plastic laid over the ground during the heat of summer)?
    I'm planning to expand my garden and want to start this year for planting next year. I've fed hundreds of grubs to my chickens. Now I'm overwhelmed with Japanese beetle damage.

    Milky Spore Lawn Spreader Mix can be applied before laying the plastic down if you water it in before doing so.  Keep in mind, however, that the  Lawn Spreader Mix needs to be applied 6 times over the course of 2 years in order to get the full residual of 15-20 years, so you will need to remove the plastic each time in order to reapply.

    When applying Milky Spore, can I use a rotary spreader?
    A

    Milky Spore Spreader Mix is too light to be used with a broadcast/rotary spreader. It must be placed in concentrated areas on the lawn and that is why it must be used with a drop spreader over every square foot of grass.  It requires six applications usually Spring and Fall for three years to build the number of spores in any one area to millions of spores.

    I have 3 Cairn Terriers. Will Milky Spore Lawn Spreader Mix harm them?
    A

    No, Milky Spore Lawn Spreader Mix  will not harm your pet if used as directed. Be sure to keep pets out of the treated area while applying and after the product has been watered in. You will wait 36 to 48 hours before watering in the Spore. Make sure you water the Spore before raking or mowing your lawn. The whole idea is to soak the Spore into the soil where it will become available to grubs feeding on the roots of grass. Simply use an oscillating hose sprayer for 15 to 20 minutes over the entire treated area. There may still be some white residue but this is chalk used as carrier for the spores. Once the area has dried completely, it is safe for pets to return to the area.

    Milky Spore Lawn Spreader Mix is best applied with a drop spreader.  We apologize, but we do not carry one that is a tow behind.  We do carry push drop spreaders though.

    Can I apply a fungicide if I am using Milky Spore for grubs?

    Milky Spore is not affected by pesticides, fungicides or herbicides. They may be applied at or around the same time.

    What do you think of the idea of mixing Milky Spore Powder with Lawn Spreader Mix and broadcasting it?

    Milky Spore Powder cannot be applied with any type of spreader.  For best results, it should be applied with the Milky Spore Lawn and Garden Dispenser.  It is not necessary to mix both products as they both do the same job.
