    Q
Can I used both Monterey Horticultural Oil and Liqui-Cop for seasonal leaf curl on my peach tree?
How do I combine them. Do I treat separately or mix together. My concern is that Liqui Cop is undiluted and the Oil is 3 table spoons to a gallon. HELP!
    A

Monterey Horticultural Oil is not labeled for leaf curl therefore would not be able to advise on a mix rate for treatment.

Monterey Liqui-Cop is labeled for leaf curl on peaches at the rate of 4 - 6 tsp per gallon of water. Per the product label -  Apply as a dormant or delayed dormant spray to protect buds and shoots during rainy period. Reapply up until late bud swell. Do not apply at less than 7 day intervals. Do not apply after full bloom

  • Asked by Jayn from Roseburg Or
    11/25/2021
    Q
How often and how many times a year can Monterey Horticultural Oil and Monterey Liqui-Cop be applied?
I was advised to spray 3 times per year: Thanksgiving, Christmas and Valentines Day. Is this correct?
    A

Since Monterey Horticultural Oil is a contact kill only and does not leave a residual, it can be applied as needed when target pests are active and present with no maximum number of applications. We would recommend not applying more than once per day as needed to avoid plant injury.

Monterey Liqui-Cop does have retreatment intervals and maximum number of applications per year. Please refer to the product label for your specific treatment information.

    Q
Can Monterey Horticultural Oil be used to treat root aphids?
    A

For root aphids, we would suggest using Monterey Horticultural Oil as a foliar spray application to the leaves and stems of the roses and using Dominon 2L as a systemic application to the root zone. Dominon 2L is should be applied at the rate of 0.2 oz per inch of trunk diameter for trees or per foot of shrub height for bushes. This is the most effective treatment for year round control of aphids. Please review our article on Aphid Control for more information on treating this pest. ?
