Per the manufacturer, you would need to wait at least one full year from the last application of MSM Turf Herbicide before any edibles of any kind could be planted in the treated area.
MSM Turf Herbicide is not labeled to control goosegrass. Sulfentrazone 4SC is labeled for goosegrass and is safe for most kinds of turfgrass. Please let us know what kind of turfgrass you have and how large of an area you are treating for more specific recommendations.
MSM Turf Herbicide is labeled to be applied at water volumes of 20 to 80 gallons of water per acre and pressures of 25-35 psi, so using only 15 gallons of water would not give you adequate volume for that size of an area. On Centipedegrass, you can apply 0.25 - 0.5 oz of MSM Herbicide per Acre.
Although MSM Turf Herbicide does not list it as a targeted species on the label, it should not be applied to/near michelia figo as injury/death could occur.
MSM Turf Herbicide is not labeled for spiderwort. If you would like to share more about where you are needing to treat, then we may be able to recommend an appropriate product for you.
You should wait at least 1 week after applying MSM Turf Herbicide to fertilize.
We would advise to wait 5-7 days between the application of MSM Turf Herbicide and a weed and feed.
MSM Turf Herbicide is no longer labeled for crabgrass control. We recommend Drive XLR8 Herbicide with Duo Stick Surfactant for post-emergent control of crabgrass on most common turfgrass types (this is not safe for centipede or St. Augustine).
MSM Turf Herbicide is labled to control spurge on certain turfgrasses. Please review the the product label for complete application instructions. Keep in mind that this product is best used on larger areas since it cannot be measured easily for small applications. Please let us know if you need a recommendation for your turf type and size lawn.
You could potentially apply MSM Turf Herbicide if the centipede is completely dormant. Be sure that the target weeds are actively growing for best results. Please refer to the product label for complete application directions.
The product label of MSM does not mention that MSM and Image have been tested for tank mixes. It does state: "Tank mixes with other registered herbicides and MSM Turf Herbicide should be tested for compatibility before full scale mixing. Use mechanical or bypass agitation to thoroughly mix the spray suspension. It is not necessary to premix this product with water in a separate container prior to adding it to the spray tank. This product should always be added to the tank first, before any other herbicides or adjuvants." Keep in mind that MSM has extremely low application rates and is very difficult to apply to small areas.
A great option to treat both nutsedge and spurge would be a sulfentrazone product such as Sulfentrazone 4SC. This product is safe on most turfgrasses and has very low use rates.
The chickens would need to be removed from the area during the treatment and until the application has completely dried. It should be safe for the chickens to return to this area as long as the manufacturer's product label instructions are followed.
MSM Turf Herbicide is not labeled to be used around anything edible or around desirable trees or shrubs. We would recommend using a non-selective product such as Avenger to carefully treat the weeds around your citrus trees.
MSM Turf Herbicide is labeled for centipede grass, although some chlorosis or stunting of the turfgrass may occur following the application. Per the manufacturer, their recommended rate to use for spot applications is of 0.1 oz per 4 gallons of water, which can be easily measured with their measuring device provided.
If you are mixing multiple products together, then you are usually using the standard rates for each product, unless otherwise directed on the product labels. MSM Turf Herbicide may be difficult to mix with another water-dispersible granule such as Katana herbicide. You would need to make a small jar test for compatibility first, and I would also test a small area of turf for tolerance first. MSM can cause chlorosis of many turf-types, so you want to be very cautious about mixing that with other products.
Rhodes grass (chloris gayana ) is not on the MSM Turf Herbicide product label to be controlled.
MSM Turf Herbicide is not labeled to kill rescuegrass. Please take a look at Certainty Herbicide as it is labeled to kill this weed and can be used in St. Augustinegrass. Please be sure to carefully read the product label before application.
MSM Turf Herbicide is best applied when target weeds are actively growing and healthy, usually between temperatures above 55 and below 85. Per the product label: Do not apply MSM Turf Herbicide to turf under stress from drought, insects, disease, cold temperatures, high temperatures of above 85F on cool season grasses, or poor fertility as injury may result.
