    Will MSM and RoundUp kill Honey locust sprouts?
    A

    MSM Turf Herbicide is labeled to control black locust, but not honey locust. RoundUp is a non selective herbicide that can kill anything sprayed.

    Can MSM Turf Herbicide be used to kill bahiagrass in a carpetgrass lawn?

    MSM Turf Herbicide is not labeled for use on carpetgrass. You could potentially use Blindside WDG as it is known to be sensitive to bahiagrass. Please see the label for complete application instructions.

    Will MSM Turf Herbicide kill bamboo tree?
    A

    MSM Turf Herbicide is not labeled to kill bamboo. In general, bamboo is extremely difficult to control. You can use Round Up QuickPro at the highest listed usage rate to help eliminate bamboo. You will be required to cut the bamboo down to a short stump as level with the ground as you can,  and then immediately apply the Round Up QuickPro. It can take several applications to achieve the desired results since bamboo roots go several feet down in the ground and can grow so quickly.

    MSM Turf Herbicide is not labeled to be used around trees. We recommend spraying outside the drip line of any desirable trees. Please refer to the product label for complete application instructions.

    Is it safe to spray MSM on a garden area prior to planting?

    MSM Turf Herbicide is not labeled as safe for use on any plants intended for edible use, and you should avoid any drift or droplets from this product to contact any desirable plants, as it could cause damage.  Keep in mind that MSM Turf Herbicide can have a very long soil residual, so you should not apply this near any desirable ornamental plants or to any area where you intend to plant new trees or shrubs within 1 year or new bedding ornamental plants within 2 years.

    MSM Turf Herbicide is not labeled to treat coco grass, aka purple nutsedge. Sedgehammer herbicide is labeled to treat Purple Nutsedge, Yellow Nutsedge, Kyllinga. Please see the label for full application instructions.

    Can MSM Turf Herbicide be tank mixed with Drive XLR8 for a blanket application?
    A

    We recommend doing a Compatibility Test in small glass jar to test if MSM Turf Herbicide and Drive XLR8 are compatible before tank mixing. If there are signs of clumping or separation, do not tank mix these together and separate applications would be needed. 

    Before blanket spraying the tank mix combination, spot treat a small area of grass for tolerance since the turf will be more stressed in summer.When tank mixing, always follow the most restrictive product label for tank mixing instructions.

    Can I use MSM Turf on St. Augustine Grass to get rid of Virginia buttonweed and when it be sprayed?
    A

    MSM Turf Herbicide is safe to use on St. Augustine grass and is labeled to control seedling Virginia Buttonweed, but only suppress the more mature plants - repeat applications may be required in 4 to 6 weeks.  This basically means that it is more likely to kill newer growth, but will have a tougher time killing the more established Virgina Buttonweeds.  Best to start treatments when it just starts to emerge and is young

    Can MSM Turf Herbicide be tank mixed with a pesticide in the same tank sprayer?

    You could potentially mix MSM Turf Herbicide with another pesticide. We always recommend that you perform a small jar test for compatibility before mixing a large tank of two products together for the first time. Additionally, be sure you are using the correct rates for both products you are using and that both products are labeled to be used in the area(s) where you intend to apply them.

    Please refer to the MSM Turf Herbicide product label for tank mixing instructions as well as the pesticide product label you want to tank mix.

    Can MSM Turf be used to kill Lespedeza in Centipede and St. Augustine lawns?
    A

    Yes, Quali-Pro MSM Turf Herbicide is labeled to kill lespedeza and can be used in Centipede and St. Augustine Lawns at the rate of 0.25 oz to 1.0 oz per acre for weed control. Some chlorosis or stunting of the turfgrass may occur following application however should recover. 

    For Lespedeza, the product label recommends the rate of 0.33 to 0.5 oz per acre.

    After spraying MSM Turf, can pets walk in yard after it dries?

    Yes, MSM Turf Herbicide is pet safe and they are able return to the treated areas once the grass is completely dry. This may take a few hours.

    Will MSM Turf kill pine trees if I spray the Virginia Buttonweed within the dripline or canopy of the trees?

    Yes, there is a risk of spraying weeds with MSM Turf Herbicide in, under and around trees when targeting virginia buttonweed. Be sure to stay outside the canopy/dripline of any desribles and do not broadcast spray under trees. Do not apply if there is risk of oversray or windrift onto desirable trees,bushes, shrubs,  broadcast spray under tree canopies and stay outside the drip line of trees.

    Is MSM Turf Herbicide a DG formulation (Dispersible Granule)?

    MSM Turf Herbicide is a water dispersible granule that will dissolve when mixed with water. 

    Per the product label: The required amount of MSM Turf Herbicide should be added when the spray tank is half full of water and, with agitator running, add the proper amount of product. Finish adding the required amount of water. Continuous agitation is required to keep the product in suspension.

    How many gallons of water do I need to spray 1 oz MSM Turf Herbicide on an acre?

    MSM Turf Herbicide is labeled to be applied at water volumes of 20 to 80 gallons of water per acre

    It will be however much water it takes you to cover the acre.  Since everyone walks at a different pace and the amount of water can vary by this and the equipment used.   We have a great video here that details sprayer calibration, specifically.

    I have acre to spray with a 25 gal tow behind sprayer. How MSM I need to use also do it work BASF Drive XLR8?
    A

    The MSM Turf Herbicide should not be mixed with Drive XLR8 or most other herbicides. Per the MSM Turf Herbicide Product Label: "Allow one week between the application of MSM Turf Herbicide and other pesticide products." Drive also requires the use of an MSO surfactant, whereas the MSM needs either a non ionic surfactant, or no surfactant at all to reduce any chance of burning or discoloration at the time of use. 

    In regards to use rates, per the Product Label: "St. Augustinegrass, Bermudagrass and Zoysiagrass (Meyers and Emerald): Apply 0.25 to 1.0 oz of MSM Turf Herbicide per acre for weed control. Some chlorosis or stunting of the turfgrass may occur following application."    This means you would mix somewhere between 0.25 oz and 1 oz at the highest rate per 25 gallons of water, if that 25 gallons covers 1 acre. If the turfgrass is stressed you would want to start with lower use rates to avoid excessive discoloration on the lawn.

    When is the best time to apply MSM Turf Herbicide to kill dollarweed?

    MSM Turf Herbicide is best applied when target weeds are actively growing and healthy, usually best between temperatures above 55 and below 85. Per the product label: Do not apply MSM Turf Herbicide to turf under stress from drought, insects, disease, cold temperatures, high temperatures of above 85°F on cool season grasses, or poor fertility as injury may result

    Can MSM Turf Herbicide be used on St. Augustine to treat woodsorrel, bermudagrass and nutsedge?
    A

    MSM Turf Herbicide is labeled for wood sorrel and is safe to use on St. Augustine grass.  It is not labeled to control nutsedge so we would recommend using a product such as Sedgehammer to treat for nutsedge. For bermudagrass in St. Augustine, there is not a selective herbicide that would kill the bermudagrass without also injuring the St. Augustine. It is recommended to spot treat areas of bermudagrass with a glyphosate herbicide such as Roundup and then reseeding/resodding any bare spots after 2 weeks.

    Do not make applications in Spring if your turfgrass is transitioning in or out of dormacy. Allow for complete green up and apply in Summer, Fall and Winter only.
