Raymond from Saint Joseph, Missouri writes

My jug of Bora-Care was very cloudy, not clear like the Bora-Care I have used in the past.

The jug was five years old, was never opened and was stored in a cool, dark area. I mixed the Bora-Care with 3/4 gallon of clean water and triple rinsed the Bora-Care container with 1/4 gallon of clean water. The Bora-Care container rinsed completely clean. I mixed the Bora-Care and 1 gallon of clean water for more than 5 minutes with a paint mixer attached to an electric drill but the solution still had a cloudy appearance. I applied the solution using a two gallon sprayer and did not have any issues. The Bora-Care solution did absorb and dry on my wood deck and there isn't any residue, crystals or dust like material on the surface of the wood. Will the cloudiness of the Bora-Care solution affect how well it penetrates into and protects the wood? Should I retreat my deck with a fresh gallon of Bora-Care?

Answer:

General most products will have a shelf life of 3-5 years if stored properly in a temperature stable environment (between 45 and 75 degrees) and out of direct sunlight.  After that time if the product has separated or looks differently it is always recommended to replace and not use.  We would recommend reaching out to Nisus directly to confirm if Bora-Care would still be effective as they would know their product stablity better, They can be reached at 800-264-0870
