  • Asked by Janice from Kinston, Nc

    Q
How much Non-Ionic Surfactant for Herbicides is needed in a dial or hose end sprayer?
    A

We do not recommend mixing a Non-Ionic Surfactant for Herbicides in a hoseend or dial sprayer since you cannot guarantee that the spray will be uniform a mixture. If using a tank sprayer such as a hand pump or backback sprayer, then you would mix 2 teaspoons of Non-Ionic Surfactant for Herbicides with the labeled amount of herbicide.

  • Asked by Matt
    04/23/2019
    Q
What should I use to cut down on the amount of foam in my tank?
This stuff foams like crazy in my spray tank and takes forever to get out because adding more water just foams it up more. Is there anything that's safe for turf that "cuts" the surfacant to stop the foaming so I can clean up quickly? Thanks.
    A

We recommend using a tank defoamer such as Prime Source Defoamer: https://www.domyown.com/prime-source-defoamer-p-12218.html

  • Asked by John from Chambersburg,pa.
    10/22/2014
    Q
i need a non-ionic-surfactant herbicide to kill weeds but not my clover in my clover food plot.
    A
Surfactants are not herbicides that kill anything. Surfactants are 'stickers' that are used in conjunction with insecticides or herbicides to help them 'stick' to the surface its sprayed on better and break the herbicides further into the plant tissue for weed control. Are you looking for an actual weed killer, not a surfactant? Do you know what kind of weeds you are trying to control in your clover plot as this will help us determine if we have an herbicide that will work for you.

  • Asked by Larry from Augusta, Ga
    05/18/2018
    Q
Is the Non-Ionic Surfactant for Herbicides the same as an oil concentrate spreader-sticker?
I have non-ionic surfactant for herbicides on-hand and use it with both herbicides and fungicides. I will be using a product in the near future and it recommends an oil concentrate as a spreader-sticker. Would non-ionic surfactant for herbicides be successful as a substitute for the oil concentrate?
    A

No, the Non-Ionic Surfactant for Herbicides is not the same as an oil concentrate spreader sticker. If the product you are using calls for an oil concentrate spreader-sticker, we would recommend the Prime Source Duo Stick

  • Asked by Deon from Indian Trail
    03/26/2021
    Q
    Too much Non-Ionic Surfactant
I misread my measuring cup and put too much surfactant in my spray tank. When I say too much, I doubled down. The product I applied was Anuew. I hope it doesn't make the product ineffective.
    A

Using too much Non-Ionic Surfactant for Herbicides can cause your spray solution to become bubbly or foaming when coming out of your sprayer, and in some cases can increase the chances of discoloration on the plants you applied the product to. The only way to know for sure is to give it time. If the plants do not seem to heavily yellow or look like they have been burned/scorched within a few days you should be okay.

    Q
    Can I mix Non-Ionic Surfactant for Herbicides, DRIVE XLR8, and 2, 4-D?
    A

Yes, it is recommended to mix Non-Ionic Surfactant for Herbicides with most post-emergent herbicides. As long as the herbicides tank mix well, you can mix all 3. Be sure that you are following label precautions to prevent burning your lawn since using a surfactant with some post-emergent herbicides could possibly injure desirable turf.
