    Q
I'm using Onslaught to control ticks. I'm thinking I should add an IGR. Is NyGuard IGR a good choice?
Onslaught's Technical Bulletin recommends NyGuard IGR for a tank mix IGR, but NyGuard's label doesn't list ticks.
    A
Nyguard IGR does indeed list ticks on the product and Nyguard IGR would be a great choice for tick control when mixed with Onslaught.

    Q
Best method to eradicate deer ticks
I have a deer tick problem in my yard. I'm in the process of modifying my yard to make it less tick friendly, but I want to eradicate them as well. I've been doing some research and Bifenthrin seems to be widely used for contact kill of existing ticks. I have also been reading that deer ticks are best controlled when combined with an IGR to disrupt their breeding cycle, but I'm not sure which one to choose. I am and wondering what insecticide and IGR combination you would recommend to eradicate deer ticks specifically. I have small children but no pets.
    A

NyGuard IGR is a great product to use in combination with a bifenthrin product like Bifen IT.  Bifen does not kill on contact but instead will leave a residual of up to 30 days to continue to kill those ticks and other insects that contact a treated area.  Those that are sprayed directly will die faster of course but it can still take a few minutes up to a few hours or so to die after contact.  We also have great guides here that can help.

NyGuard IGR is only labeled for Lone Star ticks.  For deer ticks and other species, we would recommend  Archer IGR.

    Q
Can Nyguard be mixed with Demand CS?
I am spraying a barn with a large infestation of spiders, ticks, flies, etc, with a one gallon B&G sprayer. Can I mix Nyguard with Demand CS for the best knockdown and control?
    A

Yes, Nyguard IGR can be mixed with Demand CS. However, Nyguard IGR is an insect growth regulator. It is like a birth control for certain pests. It does not help with the knockdown of the pests. You will use 1 fl. oz. of Nyguard IGR with a gallon of water. For a severe infestation, you will use 0.8 fl. oz. of Demand CS.

If you are looking for a product to get a quicker knockdown, we would recommend ExciteR Pyrethrin Concentrate. ExciteR Insecticide with piperonyl butoxide (PBO) was designed with a pyrethroid pesticide to amplify the efficacy on pest insects.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

    Q
Can NyGuard IGR be sprayed directly on cats and dogs?
I have a really bad infestation in my home. I vacuum everyday, I have bathed all the pets. I cannot remove them all from the house to spray. I was told to get the Nyguard for lice spray and I could use that directly on the animals is that true?
    A

No, neither NyGuard IGR nor NyGuard Plus is labeled to be used directly on animals.

FLEE Plus IGR Aerosol is an insecticide spray for dogs and cats that are at least 8 weeks of age. It kills fleas and ticks to control infestations for up to 30 days and begins working within 5 minutes of application.

    Q
What is best for complete flea eradication along with NyGuard IGR?
I didn't realize that NyGuard IGR only helps with reproduction. What should I mix with it…best for complete eradication? I want to kill adults too. Thank you.
    A

Cyzmic CS Controlled Release Insecticide provides excellent flea control when mixed with Nyguard IGR, and provides control of dozens of insects in a powerful micro-encapsulated formulation for long-lasting control and little to no odor.  You may also need our Indoor Flea and Tick Kit if you are dealing with a flea infestation indoors.  We also recommend referring to our Flea Treatment Guide for comprehensive information on all steps needed to eradicate fleas.

    Q
Pivot 10 and Bifen I/T or Nyguard IGR?
I was kinda set on a mix on pivot 10 and bifen it to help with mosquitos, various outdoor flies and gnats, and ticks. But now I'm reading about NyGuard IGR. We live next to the woods and have a pool. What do you recommend? I would like to mix a few things and get it all done together because I have a 30g towable sprayer and wand.
    A

NyGuard IGR and Pivot 10 contain the same active ingredient so are comparable, either can be mixed with insecticides like Bifen IT.

    Q
What is the mixing ratio for NyGuard IGR and Demand CS per gallon of water to treat the exterior perimeter foundation of the home as well as plants, trees and inside the garage for mosquitoes, ticks and other bugs?
    A

NyGuard IGR is mixed at 4 to 8 mL per gallon of water for low to medium infestations and up to 12ml per gallon of water for higher level of infestations. Demand CS is mixed at 0.2 to 0.8 oz (6 to 24 ml) per gallon of water. NyGuard IGR and Demand CS can be mixed together in the sprayer for one application. One galllon per 1000 sq ft. We recommend using the higher dose on your initial application and backing down to the lower dose for maintenance.
