NyGuard IGR is an insect growth regulator that does not actually kill insects. It prevent the young of the insects listed on the product label such as roaches, mosquitoes, fleas, etc. It causes morphological anomalies or changes and disrupts the expected insects' state of development, leading to sterility or death. When adults are present, NyGuard is commonly used in combination with a non-IGR insecticide to kill the insects as well.
NyGuard IGR is labeled for outdoor and indoor use for various insects including roaches. It would be a great choice to mix with either Tempo SC or Suspend Polyzone. We recommend that you apply a professional roach bait gel to indoor cracks and crevices (where you are not spraying). You will want to re-apply once every two weeks (cleaning up old bait placements). You can apply a drain gel to the drains nightly for a week (when drains are not being used) and apply 2-3 squirts of Gentrol Aerosol as well. This will break up any organic matter in the drains that the roaches are attracted to and the reproductive cycle.
Tips on Roach Control
You could use the Gentrol mixture indoors and the NyGuard mixture outdoors. NyGuard will not break down as easily as Gentrol to UV rays. We also recommend that you bait for the roaches as well. Please see our Roach Control page.
NyGuard IGR is an emulsifiable concentrate (EC).
Yes, you can mix NyGuard IGR and Permethrin SFR together for outdoor flea treatment.
Yes, you are missing the IGR in this Flea treatment. You can mix in Nyguard IGR. Please be aware that it is recommended to only treat every two weeks max with Cyonara.
For outdoor pests, apply NyGuard IGR at the rate of 4 ml in one gallon of water to treat 1,000 square feet. Use up to 12 ml per 1,000 square feet for insect populations that are difficult to control or in conditions that make it difficult to get control of target pests.
NyGuard IGR can be applied to cracks and crevices and NuVan ProStrips can be applied in confined areas or bags/containers for treatment. Please refer to each label for the product being applied for full application instructions.
Nyguard IGR is not labeled for springtails. However, it can be mixed with Cy-Kick CS to disrupt the life cycle of other pests, such as ants, roaches, silverfish, and other listed pests.
