    Q
Is Nyguard IGR concentrate considered a green list product?
    A

Nyguard IGR is not a green product as it is not natural or organic.  There are no IGR's that are considered "green" as they are man made.

    Q
Can NyGuard and Gentrol be used at the same time?
Curious if two different IGRs can be used at the same time. Target pest is roaches, various species. I do not intend to mix the two different IGRs together in a single application. I intend to apply separately. I am currently using Gentrol and would like to also use NyGuard one week to one month later. Current program is Gentrol mixed with Bifen to control roaches in a tropical climate.
    A

You could use the Gentrol mixture indoors and the NyGuard mixture outdoors. NyGuard will not break down as easily as Gentrol to UV rays. We also recommend that you bait for the roaches as well. Please see our Roach Control page.

    Q
What bugs exactly does NyGuard IGR fight against?
I have the little Bottle of Nyguard IGR concentrate.
    A

NyGuard IGR is an insect growth regulator that does not actually kill insects.  It prevent the young of the insects listed on the product label such as roaches, mosquitoes, fleas, etc.  It causes morphological anomalies or changes and disrupts the expected insects' state of development, leading to sterility or death. When adults are present, NyGuard is commonly used in combination with a non-IGR insecticide to kill the insects as well.

    Q
Is NyGuard meant to be used on wet surfaces or in water since it's intended to keep mosquitoes from maturing?
I'm thinking of spraying it over lawns that stay wet and have mosquitoes that don't seem to be dying from adulticide
    A

NyGuard IGR can be applied on lawns when wet but not dripping/soaked.  The key to mosquito treatments is applying to the underside of leaves where the adults lay during the day.  We have a great guide here for treating mosquitoes that may help as well. If you have standing water to treat, then we recommend using Altosid Pro-G in those areas.

    Q
Is it ok to use both NyGuard IGR and Transport GHP at the same time?
I have a roach infestation in a rental. The house has been cleaned out. I have sprayed Demand CS & Suspend Polyzone with limited success. I have recently purchased NYGuard & Transport GHP on a recommendation from a friend. Spray all 4 products? If so, what order? All all at once? Your thoughts would be appreciated.
    A

You can apply an insecticide like Transport GHP and a growth regulator like NyGuard IGR at the same time.  However, you should not mix multiple insecticides as over-applying products can actually cause insects to avoid the treated areas.  You may find it helpful to take a look at our Roach Treatment Guide if you have not already done so.

    Q
Can NyGuard IGR be sprayed directly on cats and dogs?
I have a really bad infestation in my home. I vacuum everyday, I have bathed all the pets. I cannot remove them all from the house to spray. I was told to get the Nyguard for lice spray and I could use that directly on the animals is that true?
    A

No, neither NyGuard IGR nor NyGuard Plus is labeled to be used directly on animals.

FLEE Plus IGR Aerosol is an insecticide spray for dogs and cats that are at least 8 weeks of age. It kills fleas and ticks to control infestations for up to 30 days and begins working within 5 minutes of application.

    Q
What insecticide is best to mix with NyGuard for lawns for German roaches?
We have German roaches in our yard from a used piece of furniture sitting on the curb. I am 100% sure they are German. I am using Cyper WSP monthly on the perimeter of the house but want to get rid of them in the yard as much as possible. I would like an insecticide that will last as long as possible in the elements. I would appreciate knowing application rates for both products (the Nyguard IGR and insecticide) and also how often to apply both (either separately or together). Thank you!
    A

Cyzmic CS is a great option for use in your lawn for German roaches. This can be mixed with Nyguard IGR and sprayed at the same time. The mixing rate is 0.4 fl oz per gallon of water. This will last for approximately 30 days outdoors and can be reapplied every 21 days.

    Q
I live in Canada and would like to order Nyguard, Onslaught and Sterifab, are they allowed to enter Canada?
Hi, I don't know Canadian regulations regarding pesticide importation. I wonder if you have shipped Onslaught, Nyguard and Sterifab to Canada from the past, because I'd like to order them to ship to Vancouver B.C. Please advise - thanks.
    A
Nyguard IGR should be able to be sold to Canada. However, we do not ship outside of the U.S. We apologize for any inconveniences this may cause.

  • Asked by Joe from Naperville, Il

    Q
How can I make Cyonara and Bifen I/t more effective against Mosquitoes?
I used a mosquito service which worked in the beginning of last year. I then purchased cyronara and bifen I/t from you and Mosquitos are still attacking. What other options do you suggest? I bought mosquito barrier to try. Should I up the dose usage? This is in the Chicagoland area where it's been raining a lot. Also we back up to a forest preserve. Please help!
    A
There really is  no need to mix Cyonara and Bifen together for Mosquitoes. We would recommend to mix Nyguard IGR with Bifen or Cyonara. This product will break even the toughest insect's reproductive cycle to stop future infestations. The rain could be washing the Mosquito barrier away. It could also prevent the mosquitoes from coming in contact with the Insecticide.

  • Asked by Edward from Apache Junction Az.

    Q
Can I mix 2-[methyl-2-(4-phenoxyphenoxy) ethoxy] Pyridine with Cypermethrin concentrate for later use?
I want to store and use these concentrates with a percentage of both for german cockroaches to get them and the eggs. The mix seems to work well, can they be mixed and stored together? I like the ml system of the NyGuard IGR container. I purchased almost all my pesticides from Do My Own Pest Control. I made a quick purchase of the Cypermethrin, I forgot to order a fast knock down on my last order. Just thought I'd check to be sure I don't get a bad reaction storing these chemical concentrates in the same container.
    A
Products containing Cypermethrin and Pyridine are meant to be stored in their original containers only and should not be mixed together.  The dilution rates are different for the two chemicals as well so you would not get an accurate measurement using one bottle for both products.  We would not advise that you mix them and store them together.  Once the products are mixed with water, also be sure to use within 24 hours.

    Q
Can I mix Nygar IGR with KLeen Green & Boric Acid
Hi, Can I mix Nygar IGR, Kleen Green & Boric Acid as a good combo against many insect issues inside? Do I need something else? I usually mix 1 quart hot water, 1/2 cup Eaton brand Boric acid, then IGR (how much woudl I add of NYglar?) plus some Kleen green filled to 1 gallon in hand sprayer. Thanks
    A
Although, we do not see why you would not be able to mix Nylar in with Kleen Green Boric acid, we can say for sure. Please contact the manufacturer of Kleen Green to make sure Nylar will not counteract the effectiveness.

  • Asked by Branden from Woodburn, Oregon

    Q
    Does NyGuard repel ants?
Is NyGuard detectable to ants? If mixed with Arilon, will ants cross over Arilon without detecting it so they will take the NyGuard into the nest?
    A
The NyGuard IGR is not detectable to ants or any other insect so it would be picked up by the ants and transferred along to others in the colony at the same time as the Dupont Arilon insecticide you are using. Feel free to contact us if you have any other questions.
