Once I turn my Chapin 4 Gallon 20v Wide Mouth Backpack Sprayer on, it never stops running/priming. Seems to spray fine, just never stops running until I switch.

You should hear the battery running while the unit is turned on, but you should be able to control the spray using the handle to stop and start the flow of liquid from the handle.
