    Q
Does OneGuard work for Indian meal moths?
    A

OneGuard is not labeled for Indian Meal Moth control. There are three different kinds of control measures for Indian Meal Moths, and all are essential to completely eliminate the problem:

    1)Non-Chemical Control
    2) Traps
    3) Chemical Control/ Crack & Crevice Spray

We have put together A Pantry Pest kit that contains everything you need to get rid of the pantry moths. Please take a moment to review our article How To Get Rid of Indian Meal Moths for more information on implementing a successful treatment plan.

    Q
Do you recommend using a sticker with OneGuard for mosquito applications?
    A

You could potentially add a surfactant to OneGuard insecticide to help mitigate drift and get more even coverage if you wanted to. Be sure you are using a product which is labeled specifically for use with insecticides. You can browse our surfactants here.

    Q
Can OneGuard be used to treat mosquitoes as a perimeter barrier around my home? Is this applied with a conventional sprayer?
    A

Yes, OneGuard will need to be applied in a handpump or backpack sprayer. For mosquito control, application should be directed to the underside of leaves on trees and shrubs, under decks and eaves, and as a broadcast application to the lawn. Per the product label to treat mosquitoes, mix 1.0 fl. oz. to 2.0 fl. oz. per gallon or 1.0 fl. oz. to 2.0 fl. oz. in sufficient water to cover 1,000 sq. ft.

    Q
    Will OneGuard kill cicadas?
    A

While OneGuard is not directly labeled to kill or control cicadas, it could still harm them.  For cicada killer wasps, it is commonly recommended to use Delta Dust in each individual burrow. Cicada Killer wasps thrive in disturbed environments, such as landscaped yards and places where bare soil is exposed. You can discourage the wasps from nesting in your yard by cutting your grass on the highest setting and by adding a thick layer of mulch to flower beds during the Cicada Killer Wasp season. These wasps do not like over saturated lawns either, so over watering during their season will help prevent them. Unfortunately, there is no fool proof way to prevent cicada killer wasps.

We also like to let our customers know that the Cicada Killer wasps are beneficial insects that provide free pest control for a couple months each year. Cicada killer wasps paralyze and provision their burrows with other insects to feed their young.  The beneficial Cicada killer wasps, while large and intimidating to see, are mostly harmless and there have been very few reports of anyone getting stung by just being near them. In most cases where a sting was reported, the wasps were being held or molested in some way. Cicada Killer Wasp stings are also reported to be almost painless.

    Q
Is OneGuard a repellent or non-repellent?
    A

OneGuard can be considered a repellent, because insects can detect it, unlike other non-repellent technologies.  This does not mean they are truly repelled from the area, but they may choose to avoid it as they know something is there.  However, an insect must contact the treated area to be effected by the product.

    Q
    Does Oneguard work for noseeums?
    A

OneGuard is not labeled for noseeums/gnats but could kill those that contact a treated area.

As an alternative, Bifen IT is a very popular product to apply outdoors to a yard for noseeums.  We also have a great article for them here.

    Q
    Will OneGuard kill lawn gnats?
We have a cabin in Wisconsin, and it has very sandy soil. we also have a big problem with biting Gnats even during the day hours. Will this product help control this problem?
    A

Gnats is a very general term used to describe a wide variety of small flying pests including fruit flies, drain flies, fungus gnats, no-see-ums, mosquitoes, etc. OneGuard is labeled for the many crawling and flying insects and could kill those gnats that contact a treated area long enough to get a lethal dose. For the full list, check out page 2 of the product label here.
