Don't seem to work like they say it will

    By Jim on 10/17/2017

I have now spent hundreds of dollars on this stuff and it will kill some ants. But within a few days I have double the amount of ant mounds. I'll bet my front yard alone has 20 or 30 ant mounds in it now. just can't find a product that actually kills them all.

Thank you for your review. We apologize you did not receive the expected results. With Fire ants it can be tricky to killing them and keeping them away. We recommend a few ways depending on soil temperatures and if the ants are foraging or not. A way to know if they are foraging is put out a potato chip and see if they come to it. If they come to it, they are foraging and the bait system will work. The bait system is using a granular on the mounds themselves, which is using a product similar to the Orthene. If they are not foraging (not coming to the chip) the best method to use is the mound drench application. We recommend this application if the soil temperatures are below 65 degrees and the ants are not foraging. With this application you can broadcast spray around the mound then pour 1-3 gallons of finished solution into the mound it self. The best time to do this is early morning or late evening so that there is a less likely chance the ants won't attack. We have a Fire ant control guide that explains each method of treating for them. You can find that Guide here: http://www.domyownpestcontrol.com/fire-ant-identification-guide-a-468.html. If you have any further questions please give us a call at 866-581-7378.
