Is this product safe to use on yards with a well? Ie safe for well water (we have a mostly sand foundation).

We would recommend spraying Pennington Fast Acting Lime at least 10 feet away from a well since it could contaminate the water.

    Q
How much Pennington Fast Acting Lime will I need to raise the pH from 4.4 to 6.5 in a newly cleared one acre lot?
the guy at southern states says use fast acting lime at one third the rate of regular pelletized lime iam doubtful of the advise and cant find any directions for new construction
    A

We recommend following the specific product label instructions as the rates and instructions are based of research and testing from the manufacturer.

Pennington Fast Acting Lime is not going to provide alot of coverage to treat one acre so you will need multiple bags and should apply atleast once in the fall, once in the winter and once in the spring. Periodic pH readings of your soil should be done also to keep an eye on your pH levels.

Austinville Limestone Pelletized Dolomitic Limestone Pellets would be an alternative option even though may work a bit slower, would provide more coverage of the size area you are treating.
