    Q
Can Permethrin SFR 36.8% be used to pretreat during slab construction.I need to treat 3700 square ft what is mix ratio .
I have 3700 ft to treat what is mix ratio and how much will I need. Can I use hose end sprayer to treat.
    A
Permethrin SFR 36.8% would not be recommended as a pre slab treatment. We would recommend using Termidor. Pre-slab and barrier treatments with Termidor can last for up to 10 years for subterranean termite control. You would dilute Temidor at .8 oz per gallon water and apply 1-1.5 gallons diluted solution per 10 sq. feet. Please refer to page 5 of the product label.

  • Asked by Bob from New Prague, Mn
    07/07/2014
    Q
I purchased permethrin for mosquito control. I am confused about the dilution rate.
    What do you recommend?
    A
If you purchased Permethrin SFR it is only labeled for mosquito control on livestock and in livestock premises like barns. For yard treatments of mosquitoes our top product is the Bifen IT, which is also a residual concentrate you mix with water and spray in the target areas of the property. You mix Bifen at the rate of 1oz per gallon of water and spray it roughly every 30 days or so outdoors for control.

    Q
Can you use Permethrin SFR 36.8% to treat the exterior of a tent to protect against ticks?
    A

Permethrin SFR is not labeled to be used on tents or clothing but we do carry a JT Eaton product that can.

JT Eaton KILLS bedbugs, ticks, mosquitoes is a water based permethrin spray that comes in a convenient, ready to use spray bottle that will keep on killing 4 to 6 weeks. KILLS bedbugs, ticks, and mosquitoes can be used on clothing, tents, sleeping bags, backpacks, ground cloths and mosquito netting for ticks and mosquitoes.

    Q
Our Olianter bushes were almost devastated by caterpillars last year that killed all the leaves.
Will Permethrin solve my problem? If not, what do you recommend?
    A
Permethrin SFR 36.8% is labeled for caterpillars and can be sprayed on ornamentals. You will spray thoroughly where the caterpillars reside but not to the point of runoff. You will use 1-3 fl. oz. per gallon of water. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

    Q
I see ants listed, but does Permethrin SFR 36.8% kill off Carpenter Ants as well?
    A
While Permethrin SFR 36.8% is labeled for ants, it is hard to say for certain if it will have any effect on Carpenter Ants since they are not specified on the label. For treatment of Carpenter Ants, we recommend using our Carpenter Ant Control Kit # 2  Dominion 2L is great for ant control when used as a perimeter spray. Spraying 2ft up and 2ft out from the foundation will give you 6 month control around the periemeter of the home  Since ants are either looking for a sugar bait or protein bait, it is important offer both. The kits contain the Maxforce Carpenter Ant Bait Gel (sugar bait) and Advance Carpenter Ant Bait (protein bait). Please let us know if you have any further questions.

  • Asked by Joe from Ste. Genevieve, Mo

    Q
This question really sets off my bullshit alarm. Inerts harmful to clothing?
QCan Permethrin SFR 36.8% be diluted with water to soak clothes in for tick control while hiking? Does this have any other active ingredients than permethrin? A Permethrin SFR 36.8% cannot be used on clothing of any type. We do carry Tick Block which was specifically manufactured for use on clothing for tick control. While Tick Block and Permethrin SFR 36.8% share the same active ingredient the base ingredients are very different and the products are not interchangeable. Permethrin SFR 36.8% does contain inert ingredients that are privy to the manufacturer. The inert ingredient part of a product is a trade secret and not disclosed to anybody.
    A
Permethrin SFR is not labled for the treatment of clothing. For more information, you can contact the manufacturer at 281-892-2500.

    Q
I am using a low pressure sprayer with Permethrin on my swine for mange, on there backs and ears,
what if some gets in there eyes, will they be ok?
    A
You should use vet approved mineral oil to coat the swines eyes prior to the permethrin appication if you anticipate the product may get into the animals eyes. This will avoid the swines eyes being irritated.

You will use 4-8 fl. oz. of Permethrin SFR 36.8% per 100 gallons of water. We would recommend using the higher rate for moderate to high infestations.

    Q
Can I mix Permethrin with Triplet and apply it with a Permagreen sprayer/spreader?
12 gallons does about 35000 sq ft
    A

We apologize we are not familiar with TripletPermthrin SFR is a great product, but we cannot recommend to mix the products together as we are unsure of the outcome. Most times we recommend to try a tank mix and if that works then the products should be able to be applied together.

  • Asked by Peggy from Whitehall, Mi

    Q
How do I mix Nyguard and Permethrin SFR to treat fleas indoors?
How much Nyguard do I mix per one gallon of the Permethrin for flea control in the home? I got the ratio for Permethrin and water mix, but how much Nyguard do I mix in?
    A

When mixing Nyguard with Permethrin it states on the label to apply as a general surface application at the rate of 4 ml. in one gallon of water to treat 1,500 square feet. You may use up to 12 ml. per 1,500 square feet for insect populations that are difficult to control on in conditions that make it difficult to get control of target pests. Please see our Flea Treatment Article for more information and tips about treating for fleas indoors and outdoors.

Permethrin SFR 36.8% and TALSTAR PRO should not be mixed together. That would be over application. You can mix Talstar with Exponent for a super kick against insects.

    Q
Can Permethrin and Talstar be combined to spray indoors to knock down and control a flea infestation?
    A

Talstar P and Permethrin SFR should not be mixed. Talstar P should not be used indoors to treat fleas as it can only be applied to cracks and crevices. Please take a few moments to read over our article How to Get Rid of Fleas to learn how to implement a successful Flea control program.

  • Asked by Joe from Little Rock, Ar
    08/30/2016
    Q
If I double the Permethrin SFR 36.8% rate per gallon can I spray half the gallons per 1000 square feet?
    A

We do not recommend over applying Permethrin SFR 36.8%. It would be a waste of product and could also create repellent tendencies. You don't want the insects to realize they are traveling over the treated area so that they will contact the application and die.
