Yes, Permethrin SFR 36.8% can be used for carpet beetle larvae. You will need to use 1 2/3 fl. oz. for each gallon of water to get a 0.5% ratio. When using this product for carpet beetles the label states to apply the spray evenly to rugs, carpets, along baseboards and edges of carpeting, under carpeting, rugs and furniture, in closets, on shelving, and wherever else these insects are seen or suspected. Permethrin SFR 36.8 could be tank mixed with herbicides such as 2,4-D as long as the rates on both product labels are followed.
There are 3 mix rates for applying Permethrin SFR 36.8% with one gallon of water when treating fire ant mounds. Typically you would use the low or mid rate for treating fire ant mounts unless the mounds are greater than 12 inches in diameter per the product label. You can find the mix rate Chart on page 14 of the product label:
Mix Rates per one gallon of water: Low:0.5% (1.6 fl oz), Mid:1.0% (3.3 fl oz), High: 2% (6.6 fl oz). If using 2 gallons of water to treat the mounds, you will double the mix rate.
Permethin SFR can be used on dogs for flea and tick control as directed on the product label only. It is a concentrate that must be mixed with water first. You will mix ¼ fl. oz. of concentrate to 1 pt. water and use 1-2 fl. oz. of dilution to spray on each animal. Spot treat back, face, legs tail and ears. If you would like to "dip" the dogs you will use ¼ fl. oz. to 1¼ gallons water and thoroughly wet the dog to the skin with sponge or rag. Let drip dry. You can find these instructions on page 16 of the Permethrin SFR product label.
Permethrin SFR 36.8% is not labeled for rat mites specifically. It is important to be absolutely sure you are actually dealing with rat mites. Have the suspected rat mite identified by a reputable source, such as your local cooperative extension office or a reputable pest control operator. you must first find the source of the infestation, usually a rat nest or a dead rat on or in the home. Removal of the infested nest or rat(s) and a thorough cleanup is necessary. For treatment in the home, we recommend you frequently vacuum all carpet and upholstery and dispose of the bag or vacuum contents in a sealed bag outdoors. Spray Sterifab on couches, chairs and other upholstered furniture where you may spend time resting. Use MotherEarth Dust in all cracks and crevices around the perimeter of the room. Apply a thin coat of MotherEarth dust to rugs and carpets. Rake (not sweep) nap back and forth, causing dust to enter rug or carpet. Let product sit overnight. Repeat application as necessary and vacuum every 3 - 4 days for effective control. MotherEarth dust does not have a fast knockdown, it can take several days for insects to die after they contact the dust. Onslaught can be used for a faster knockdown. Thoroughly apply as a fine particle broadcast spray using a hand pump sprayer to infested rugs and carpets and other cracks and crevices around the perimeter of each room. Put all clothes through the dryer on high heat to help kill mites and their eggs.We have had many customers use the above recommendations with great success. Most customers report that it can take several months to get rid of all of the mites. Since there has not been much research on controlling rodent mites this program is only a suggestion and may not work for every situation. Finding and removing the source of the infestation is very important and is the key to getting rid of the mites for good.

Use the higher rate for fast knockdown and increased residual control. Dense or excessive (greater than 3 inches) lawn height and arid conditions may require higher volume application rates. No, Permethrin SFR and Talstar P are both pyrethroid based insecticides that have about the same 3 to 4 week residual outdoors. Therefore, there would be no benefit to mix these two insecticides together in a tank mixture. If you'd like a longer lasting insecticide for outdoor control we recommend that you consider a micro-encapsulated insecticide such as Cy Kick CS or an oil based insecticide such as Demon Max. Cy Kick CS will provide you with a full 90 day killing power outdoors. Please take a few minutes to read over our Mosquito Control Guide for more helpful tips for treating mosquitoes around your home.
Unfortunately, Permethrin SFR 36.8% is not labeled for chiggers. We would recommend Talstar P for that. This would give you lasting control, has no odor, and dries clear
Permethrin SFR 36.8% cannot be applied to clothing. Permethrin SFR 36.8% mixed with Nyguard IGR is safe for children and pets after drying. There is a slight odor, but that dissapates over a short time. In the original wet state, it can irritate skin. That is why we recommend to keep children and pets away until dried. If the treated area were to get wet it does not "reactivate".

For flea control, we recommend retreatment with insecticides such as Permethrin SFR every 14 days until you have no more signs of fleas. Most successful flea treatment programs require at least 2-3 treatments at 14-day intervals using both an insecticide for the adult fleas and an Insect Growth Regulator (IGR) to prevent immature stages of fleas from developing into breeding adults. You will not be able to make just one insecticide application for fleas and never see them again, especially if you did not use an IGR in your treatment. Fleas multiply very quickly, and they have an immature stage that is protected from insecticide, so new fleas will continue to emerge after you have treated. Be sure, also, that you are vacuuming every day or every other day to help pick up adult fleas, flea dirt, and eggs, and also to stimulate those immature fleas so the adults will emerge and be exposed to the insecticide you have put down. We have more tips and details in our Flea Treatment Guide here.
