Neither Permethrin SFR nor Bifen XTS can be applied to furniture. Bifen XTS is also not able to be applied to carpets inside so would not be recommended for inside flea control. Nyguard Plus would be a better option as it can be applied to upholstered furniture and other areas, it also is an odor neutralizer and contains an IGR (insect growth regulator) which is highly recommended when treating for fleas. Please refer to our guide here for the best advice in effectively treating fleas both inside and out.
Per the product label: Use 4 to 8 ounces per 100 gallons of water or Broadcast 0.9 to 1.8 Fluid Ounces Per 10,000 sq. ft. This will be best applied by way of a tank sprayer and not by a hose end sprayer. If a hose end sprayer is the only available option it must be one with a dial to select the correct dilution rate per gallon/1000 sq/ft. You would set the dial to 1 teaspoon per gallon of water per 1000 sq/ft.

We would recommend using Hi-Yield Indoor/Outdoor Broad Use Insecticide. It is labeled for various insects, including squash bugs and is safe for use on listed edibles. This product does have the same active ingredient as Permethrin SFR, however, it is at a lower concentration. That product cannot be diluted down and used on edibles.
Permethrin SFR 36.8% is not labeled for any type of biting gnat or biting midge (another name for sand gnats) and may not provide effective control. We would recommend choosing a product that is specifically labeled for gnats or midges such as Talstar P or Onslaught. Both of these products are labeled for biting gnats and midges and can be sprayed over the lawn. Flying insects are hard to control because they do not readily come into contact with the areas where you have sprayed the insecticide, so it important to spray areas where the tiny flies actually land or hang out.
Permethrin SFR 36.8% can be applied to indoor cracks and crevices when the children and pets are not present. They can return once the treated areas are completely dry. Depending on the mix ratio used and how heavily you sprayed, it could be anywhere from just as the product has has had time to dry, or several hours after application before the smell of the Permethrin SFR completely goes away. If the odor is objectionable, then you may want to consider switching to a water-based insecticide, rather than an oil-based one. Onslaught FastCap is a unique insecticide that has an encapsulated pyrethroid plus prallethrin for quick knockdown. Permethrin SFR contains permethrin - a different pyrethroid - and it is not encapsulated. The encapsulation really helps products to last longer in the heat and sunlight in desert environments better than the Permethrin SFR would. Our other most popular insecticides to rotate with Onslaught would be Cyzmic CS or CyKick CS. You could always add 0.25 - 0.5 oz of ExciteR insecticide to either Cyzmic or CyKick for that extra quick knockdown, if desired.
You want to be very careful when using Permethrin SFR 36.8% to treat for hive beetles as the Permethrin is highly toxic to bees! According to the attached article from the University of Arkansas about Managing Small Hive Beetles : Soil Treatment - The pupal stage is a vulnerable time in the beetle life cycle. Slightly moist, loose, sandy soil is optimal for their development. Locating colonies on hard clay or rocky soil, rather than light sandy soil, can reduce the number of beetly larvae that successfully pupate. If larvae are present in the colony, soil around the hive can be treated with a permethrin drench to prevent the larvae from pupating, killing them in the soil.
