Selective Pre-Emergent Herbicide Weed Killers for Ornamentals

Applying selective pre emergent herbicides at the right time of year is crucial to the product’s weed control success. The product must be in the soil at the time the weed seeds germinate, so the product can stop the growth of the weeds at this time. If it is applied too early, it will lose effectiveness before the right time, and if it is applied too late, the product will not affect the growing weed. Weed seeds begin to germinate when soil reaches 55 degrees, and timing will vary depending on where you live, but early through late spring is generally the right time of application.
