    Q
Is there a curative rate for grubs? Any heat restrictions?
Have white grubs in st augustine grass. Cut out a 12'×12' area and counted 7 grubs. I did use grubEx the first of June.
    A

You can use 0.6 fluid oz Prime Source Imidacloprid 2F Select T/I per gallon of water. Prime Source Imidacloprid 2F Select T/I is labeled for grubs but more for preventative treatments. For best results, soil applications should be done in mid-June to mid-July prior to grub egg hatch. Depending on your region, grub egg hatch is typically from late July through late August.
For actively feeding grubs, Dylox 6.2 Granules is recommended for immediate grub control within 24 hours of the application being watered in. Mature Grubs may require a second application.
Please review our article on How to Get Rid of Grubs for more information.

    Q
Can I use Imidacloprid to spray iris for Iris borer?
If so, what would be the mix, and how often should I spray the iris?
    A
I've linked a detailed article and study done by the state of Minnesota on this pest for you below. It goes over what to look for and when throughout the year, and what to do to control or stop borers in the iris rhizomes. The treatments are not done in the fall/winter but in the spring and when you see activity of damage starting at the leaves and top parts of the plant since that is where the insect actually enters the plant from, not from the soil. The article goes over when to treat and I've linked to options for spraying if needed.

Will Prime Source Imidacloprid 2F Select T/I work on Crazy Ants?
    A

Prime Source Imidacloprid 2F Select T/I is labeled to kill ants and it might have some effect on Crazy Ants. Unfortunately because of the nature of the ants and how they act it can be very difficult to treat for them.

We have a Crazy Ant Kit and Crazy Ant Treatment Article that may help with more treatment options.

    Q
Would Prime Source Imidacloprid 2F T/I be a good product to broadcast spray and spot treat for fire ants?
If not, what would you recommend?
    A

Unfortunately, Prime Source Imidacloprid 2F T/I is not labeled to treat for fire ants. We would recommend Extinguish Plus Fire Ant Bait which can either be broadcast or used to treat the individiual mounds.

    Q
Is Prime Source Imidacloprid 2F T/I useful for bagworm control?
    A

Prime Source Imidacloprid 2F T/I is not labeled for bagworm control.  A product like Bifen I/T  would be a better option. Keep in mind that treatments must be done before the bags form in order to be effective.  After the bags have formed, there is little you can do for control other than to physically remove them.  You may want to take a look at our article on Bagworm Control for more information.

Does this product treat Ash trees for emerald ash borer? EAB is not listed on the label for control.
    A
Prime Source Imidacloprid 2F Select T/I is not labeled for emerald ash borers. I would recommend taking a look at Dominion 2L as it is labeled for the insects. There is also a really great Q&A on the treatment of emerald ash borers using Dominion 2L. I have provided the link to the Q&A below.

Will Prime Source Imidacloprid 2F Select T/I help keep moles away?
I was told this will kill the insects that moles eat and the moles will move somewhere else. Anyone have experience with this?
    A

Prime Source Imidacloprid 2F Select T/I will help to eliminate some subterranean insects that moles consume and that may help moles move along. A

The rate of Prime Source Imidacloprid 2F Select T/I for soil drench applications to treat for Whiteflies is 0.1 to 0.2 fl oz (3 to 6 mL) per inch of trunk diameter. Q
Looking for a product to kill the bugs that are killing my pines. They hollow out the inside of the limbs
This kills the tree. They are 40 feet high pines. Had them for at least twenty years. I have never seen the bug.
    A
A systemic product such as Prime Source Imidacloprid 2F Select T/I is best used for sucking pests such as aphids, scale, and whiteflies that feed on the green tissue of plants. If you are seeing limbs and/or trunks that are being eaten from the inside out, that is usually carpenter or termites who are breaking down the decaying wood. Keep in mind that these insects are generally only attacking a tree that is already dead or dying from other factors rather than the initial cause. We recommend that you inspect the trees for other signs of insects, disease, and other stress, and possibly consult with a local arborist to help you assess the general health of the trees.

If you are able to identify a specific issue, then we can assist you with treatment options.
