    Q
I just laid down new sod, how long do I have to wait to apply Prodiamine 65 WDG to lawn?
Not the whole back yard as new sod only in spots.
    A

Per the Prodiamine 65 WDG product label,  "To avoid turfgrass injury, do not apply to newly set sod until the sod has rooted and exposed edges have filled in. This time frame could be anywhere between 8-16 weeks depending on root and turf establishment speed".

  • Asked by Ken from Hampton Bays, Ny
    04/17/2018
    Q
What preemergent can I use in NY as Prodiamine is prohibited?
    A

You could use Resolute 4FL Herbicide, which is a liquid concentrate with the same active ingredient. You could also use a weed and feed called Fertilome for All Seasons Lawn Food Plus Crabgrass and Weed Preventer. The latter is a granule but it does also contain a 16-0-8 fertilizer.

Pendulum 2G is another option for granule pre-emergent which has a very similar list of target weeds.

    Q
Can I use Prodiamine 65WDG in the fall and still overseed my TTTF? If yes, how far apart should the putting down of Prodiamine and then overseeding be?
    A

Per the Prodiamine 65 WDG product label: To reduce the potential to injure overseeded turf, wait 60 days after seeding or until after the second mowing, whichever is longer, before applying Quali-Pro Prodiamine 65 WDG.

When to Overseed After Application (All States)* Quali-Pro Prodiamine 65 WDG will inhibit the development of turfgrass species overseeded too soon after application. Follow rates and intervals in the table below for best overseeding/reseeding results

When used at the lowest rates, it starts at 4 months after application that you can overseed.

  • Asked by Travis from Westminster, Md

    Q
Can you use Trimec 992, Prodiamine WDG 65, and Quicksilver in the same treatment?
    A

It would be best to make separate application for the Trimec 992, Prodiamine 65 WDG and the Quicksilver.  Generally you don't want to mix pre- and post-emergent products as it can change their formulations.  You could however do a jar mix of the Trimec 992 and the Quicksilver and see if they emulsify and could be sprayed together since they are both post emergents.

    A

Prodiamine 65 WDG will inhibit the development of turfgrass species overseeded too soon after application.  It will depend upon the rate of product used per acre as to how many months you need to wait before reseeding.  At the minimum use rate, you need to wait 4 months before reseeding. Please refer to the product label for complete instructions on reseeding.

  • Asked by Charles from Citrus Springs Fl
    05/02/2018
    Q
Does Prodiamine 65 WDG (Generic Barricade) still work as a pre emergent after adding a surfactant?
    A

Yes, Prodiamine 65 WDG (Generic Barricade) still functions as an effective pre-emergent even after adding a surfactant. A surfactant helps products penetrate the natural waxy tissue of plants and increases the effectiveness. When using a pre-emergent such as Prodiamine 65 WDG a surfactant is not needed.

    Prodiamine and overseeding
I was told i could use Prodiamine in the fall to prevent Poa Annua and still overseed my tttf grass at the same time without the Prodiamine preventing the seed from germinating. Is this true?

  • Asked by Todd from Cooksville, Il
    05/19/2018
    Q
How long do you have to get Prodiamine 65 WDG (Generic Barricade) watered in?
I applied with hopes of rain but it did not rain.
    A

? Prodiamine ? should be applied prior to a rainfall. It is important to irrigate the area after the product has been applied to activate it. Pre-emergents need to reach the thatch area to prevent the weeds from germinating, so irrigation is very important as soon as possible.

    Q
What is the difference between Prodiamine 65 WDG and Prodiamine 4L?

    A

Prodiamine 65 WDG and Quali-Pro Prodiamine 4L are different formulations.  At the lowest rate the 4L covers more area.

  • Asked by Ron from Marion, Ar

    Q
Can I mix MSMA and Prodiamine together in late September on Bermuda Grass?
    A

MSMA is a strong product and it's labeled for commercial use only, if not used appropriately it can burn any type of grass. We would not recommend to mix MSMA with Prodiamine; instead, spot treat with MSMA and you can do a broadcast application with Prodiamine 65 WDG.
