How Advance Termite Bait Cartridge Works

The Advance Termite Bait Cartridge (TBC) is for use in the Advance Termite Bait System only. After stations have been installed and monitored, the TBC should be used only if and where termite activity has been found. Each TBC contains the active ingredient Diflubenzuron, which works slowly enough that worker termites carry the active ingredient back to the colony before the colony has the opportunity to change food sources. Diflubenzuron is an insect development inhibitor that impairs the ability of termites to molt. Each cartridge contains enough bait for approximately 90 days of feeding, although actual use will vary dependent on termites’ feeding habits and the size of colonies. Replace bait if termite activity continues, or replace with a fresh Monitoring Cartridge and wood Monitoring Base when termite activity has ceased.

Target Pests

Subterranean Termites

Target Uses

The Advance Termite Bait Cartridges (TBC) are used during the baiting phase. After termites have been identified in the monitoring stations, the Advance Termite Inspection Cartridges (TIC) are replaced with these bait cartridges. The bait is contained in a plastic container for easy inspection. The stations should still be checked every 3 months even when termites are present in the baiting station. 6 units.

ACTIVE INGREDIENT: Diflubenzuron 0.25%

Application Instructions

*Always read the product label completely before use.

Advance Compressed Termite Bait II is intended for use in an ongoing program of management and control of subterranean termite colonies in the ground around and under any type of building or other object (structure). Advance Compressed Termite Bait II does not exclude termites from a structure. Instead, it suppresses or eliminates termite colonies.

After termite activity has been absent from a station for at least approximately 60 days, any remaining bait may be removed. If bait is removed, clean out station and replace with monitor (pre-bait) or bait. Alternatively, bait may remain in the station if it is in good condition and 50% or more remains. If termites have abandoned the station, possibly due to reductions in termite activity related to low temperatures during the period of predicted limited termite activity, it may be advisable to leave the station and bait in place and recheck the station again after the period of predicted limited termite activity has elapsed before removing and replacing the bait.

To inspect a station, remove the cover and visually examine the interior for the presence of termites, being careful to minimize disturbance of the termites. If live termites are present in the station, bait with Advanced Termite Bait II. Replace excessively decayed bait or pre-bait. Replace the station cover securely.

Each box contains 6 Bait Cartridges to install in 6 Advance Termite Bait Stations. Each cartridge contains enough bait to last approximately 90 days.

Standard Application Rates

*Replace Termite Inspection Cartridge with Termite Bait Cartridge when termite activity has been found in a station. Remove Bait Cartridge after 90 days or when termite activity ceases.

For use in the following areas:

*Use only in Advance Termite Bait Stations already installed around the perimeter of residential, industrial, or commercial structures.

Indoors-

Advance Termite Bait systems are for outdoor use only.

Outdoors-

If termite activity is known to be present in or on the structure at the time stations are initially installed, inspect all stations 2 times at approximately 45 and 90 days after the date of completion of initial station installation. If no termite activity is present in or on the structure at the time stations are initially installed, inspect all stations for the first time 90 days after the date of completion of initial station installation. Thereafter, inspect stations approximately 90 days after the date of the last inspection of the stations.

    Advance Termite Bait System

    By William on 12/03/2010

    Verified Purchase

A "professional" pest control company installed the Advance System at our home a couple of years ago. I began to wonder about their expertise this summer when I discovered they were not putting the bait cartridges out. In all cases they continued using the monitoring cartridges. I went to the Advance web site and confirmed from their very detailed material that termites were present. They were simply feeding them, not killing them! I went to the internet and found that the folks at DoMyOwnPestControl.com could supply the materials at reasonable prices so now I'm my own termite controller! Using DoMyOwnPestControl.com for the materials and following the detailed instructions from the Advance web site makes this a simple project as well as being a significant cost saving!

I have used this system for a few years. It should not take that long but I failed to use it as described. Last year I did it right and it works just great. Moral: Follow the instructions and it will kill the whole den.

    Advance Termite Bait

    By Joe on 11/11/2012

    Verified Purchase

I purchased the Advance Termite Bait Kit with monitoring and bait stations. Although I already have termites, Do My Own Pest Control recommends not to buy this product because the temites already have a food source. But because I have a water well close to my house I didn't want to use a liquid barrier type product. Also, when I called a professional termite company they were going to use a bait system also. This system worked very fast. Within a week I had termites in about a third of the twenty monitoring cartridges. I then replaced the stations with the bait cartridges and within a month the bait cartridges where completely gone. This system definitely attracts termites but only time will tell if it kills the colony. I just purchased this product this summer. By next summer I'll know how well it works. If the bait works as described the termites are done.

    Termite chow

    By Steve on 03/04/2015

Termites hit these bait cartridges pretty hard once they find them. I put this system around a home with 16 stations. I've already "fed" the subs 4 of these cartridges, with 4 fresh ones in the ground and no signs of letting up....yikes, this could get expensive! I'm banking on crashing this colony soon!

Q
How long will Advance Termite Bait Cartridge be effective after it is opened and not used?

How long will Advance Termite Bait Cartridge be effective after it is opened and not used? Also how long will it effectively last and kill termites in a bait station that is loaded with termites?

A
The Advance Termite Bait Cartridge should be used within 6 months of opening the cartridge from the vacuum sealed cellophane that it comes in.  Once the bait cartridge has been applied inside the station, it should continue to be checked every 3 months.  How long the station will last depends solely on the size of the termite colony and how much they eat, however the stations are made to at least last for 3 months against a large colony.

Q
Does one need to wait for a lot of activity before placing Cartridge II in and why?

I can visually see termite activity in two of my bait systems and have placed the Cartridge II in them. However, am concerned--should I placed the Cartridge II in the 8 remaining ones--even though I do not see activity like the others??? Also, approximately how long will a cartridge last with active colony?

A
When using the Advance Termite Bait System you would place all stations with the wood base and monitoring and inspection cartridge in the ground from the start. Once you start to see activity in a station during your quarterly checks, you will look to see how many of the discs in the inspection cartridge have been eaten. You should be able to see what looks like 3 discs through the clear sides of the inspection cartridge, and you should only take that cartridge out and replace it with the bait cartridge in when at least 1.5 to 2 discs have been eaten. This is to ensure that the termites are fully hitting those stations as their primary food source. Once they have eaten those discs, you will remove the inspection cartridge, replace it with the bait cartridge, and leave it alone until the termite colony has been eliminated, which can take roughly 90 days. You will ONLY put the bait cartridge in the stations that have activity, not in stations that have no activity or very little. If after 90 days there is still activity in the stations or the cartridge is empty, then you can put another bait cartridge in that station. Once the colony is eliminated you will replace them with a new inspection cartridge.

Q
Will the Advance Compressed Termite Bait kill ants?

I have several stations in which small ants have apparently made a home. They run about when I inspect the station. They carry off their eggs. I have seen small ants and large red ants in the stations. The large ants seem to be in the inspection stations.

A
The Advance Termite Bait is not labeled for ants and may or may not have any effect on them. We recommend that you use the Advance 375A Ant Bait granules to get rid of the ants. You can sprinkle the granules on the ground near where the stations are installed. The ants will consume the granules and will help eliminate the colonies that have taken up residence in the termite bait stations. Most professional companies use the ant bait granules to stop ants from invading the termite bait stations.

Q
Why can't the Advanced Termite Bait Cartridge be sold to NY?

I have the Advanced cartridge system in place and would like to save money because the pest control company have become over priced. So why is the Advanced Termite Bait Cartridge not sold to NY and would there be a alternate component I could use?

A
New York state has very strict regulations that prevent most professional products from being shipped there. Unfortunately, there are no alternative products that would work to replace the Advance Termite Bait Cartridge.
