BE AWARE only works with certain FOGGING insecticides

    By Tom on 07/08/2012

    Verified Purchase

Don't buy this unless you are using only certain proprietary fogging insecticides. It does NOT work with common agents like pyrethin, permethrin, talstar etc. You are limited to agents such as the one marketed by th manufacturer or Black Flag, etc. But fogs like crazy with those agents.

Very effective and simple with some maintenance.

    By Jason on 07/13/2014

    Verified Purchase

I have been using this fogger with Pyrocide 300 for a several weeks. If you use the right cylinder, fogging agent and perform some basic maintenance you'll be good to go. My first mistake was using the lantern type propane cylinder which does NOT produce optimum heating and generates a flare. I have no idea why, but the longer torch cylinder generates a better burn. The difference is night and day. After about 10 uses, the nozzle became clogged. Just unscrew it and clean in paint thinner with pipe cleaner or wire. Supposedly you are supposed to flush after each use, but I can't find instructions for that.

    FOG RX PROPANE INSECT FOGGER

    By Anonymous on 07/23/2013

    Verified Purchase

I like the fogger a lot. It works great. The first one I received did not work and I gave a bad review of the product. I received a call from a representative for DoMyOwnPestControl. They sent me a new fogger, no questions asked, and it has worked great. They told me they would be happy to help with any questions I might have about any pest problems that might come up. So if you need any help with pest control just them a call. You will not be disappointed.

    bonida rx propane insect fogger

    By Anonymous on 08/11/2013

I have an older model of this fogger which gets very hot but not fogging as good as it did. I new one I just got heats up but cools off when you start fogging. Have to stop and let it heat up again. I carry a propane torch to help keep the coils heated or I have to stop and let the unit heat up again. If you don't, it does not fog like it should and it just a waste of time and money

Q
What is the effective range of Fog RX Propane Insect Fogger application in trees?

Would like to control mosquitoes in for an outdoor event in our 4 acre field surrounded by 60 maple trees and some brush.

A
The propane insect fogger is really a small fogger and does not have a very long range.  It is meant for up close treatment, meaning you will only be able to fog lower lying bushes, shrubs and trees.  However, mosquitoes usually stay close to the ground on lower foliage so this should not be a problem.  You do have to cover the entire area though....the fog will not travel very far typically with wind and other factors that can direct it away from the surfaces you would like to cover.

Q
What type of propane tank is needed for use with the Fog RX Propane Insect Fogger? Insecticide?

I have an approx 1000sf garden that is overrun with aggressive mosquitoes! Need something like this (I think) to make my garden usable again. RE propane: what exactly do I need? A small tank? RE repellant: do you carry the mosquito repellant recommended on the box? RE usage: Not sure how easy it is for me to get propane where I live so curious if you have this on sale as well... please advise whenever you have a moment.

A
We do not carry the small propane tanks that are required for use with the Fog RX Propane Insect Fogger but most hardware stores and big box stores do carry them and they are pretty readily available. You can check with your local stores before purchase to make sure they carry the 14.1 oz tall style propane cylinders that are required (3 inches in diameter x 10.5 inches long). Do NOT use the shorter 16 oz lantern style cylinders as they are known to cause flare ups or uncontrolled burn. You can learn more about using the fogger by reading the product label which we linked in this answer for your convenience but which is always available on the Fog RX Propane Insect Fogger product page on our site under the picture of the product. We do carry the Bonide Bug Beater Lawn and Garden Fogging solution that is recommend on the fogger box.

There is an igniter in the coils on the front of the fogging device and all that is needed is a propane tank to be attached to the back of the unit for the fuel for the unit to work.
