  • Asked by Nancy from Holly Hill
    04/06/2020
    Q
Tiny black flies, think gnats in my house. Will PT Alpine Pressurized Fly Bait kill gnats? And is it dangerous if sprayed around pets?
Can I spray inside on walls and behind furniture and in kitchen and be safe? I think flies are coming in from yard. Neighbors are having same problem.
    A

PT Alpine Pressurized Fly Bait can be effective in areas where flies congregate such as around windows, on walls, near sinks, under tables, garbage cans, etc. It is recommended to apply baits in areas you want to draw the flies too but the Fly Bait will not for gnats only House Flies, Filth Flies, Lesser House Flies, Flesh Flies and Small Fruit or Vinegar Flies.  It would not be applied on furniture at all.

PT Microcare CS Pressurized Insecticide can be used also to treat screens and as a barrier around windows, doors and other pest entry points. It can also be used as a space spray inside to kill flies/gnats out in the open at the time you do so.

    Q
    Neighborhood Pool Patio with Covering
We are having a fly problem at our neighborhood pool. It is concrete floor with a covering that is made of wood posts with a tin roof. I see that you recommend spraying on trash can (which for sure has a ton of the fly population), but where else would you recommend? I wouldn't think spraying on the concrete ground would work? And are the wood beams too porous? The tables are plastic and/or metal as well as the chairs. Could the tops of the tables be sprayed? Thank you so much for your time. Looking forward to killing some flies!!!!!!
    A
The PT Alpine Pressurized Fly Bait is labeled to be sprayed on or around these areas: garbage receptacles and lids, refuse containers, under tables and benches, recycling bins, dumpsters, behind vending machines, under bars, calf hutch ceilings, eave areas, walls and/or areas where flies are likely to congregate or infest. The label also states "DO NOTapply bait in areas that are frequently cleaned. This product will not adhere to surfaces that are dusty or greasy. Reapply when bait placements are no longer visible and/or reinfestation occurs."
