    Q
Continue Vacuuming after 2nd application if no noticeable fleas?
So I've put down a second application of Ultracide after 14 days, and vacuumed vigerously in-between. Just before I put down the second application I stopped noticing fleas jumping on me. The day that I put down the second application. I'm still NOT noticing any fleas. Should I continue to vacuum after the second application for any period of time or should I consider the issue resolved? I'm almost afraid to vacuum again and wake/hatch another wave of fleas. Its finally peaceful in the house and it's nice, lol.
    A
Yes, after your second application of the PT Ultracide Pressurized Flea Insecticide, it is recommended to continue the next day with the daily vacuuming after the spray has dried. You do not have to do the same day you treat after the product dries.  Please let us know if you have any other questions.

    Q
Can I reapply PT Ultracide Pressurized Flea Insecticide sooner than 14 days?
I just put down my first application, and yes it did seem to eliminate a lot, not all, but most of the visible jumping fleas. In addition to vacuuming daily can I reapply a second application sooner than 14 days? Say, once a weekend for 3-4 weekends? Also, do I need to do wall to wall vacuuming every day moving ALL the furniture around, etc. Or can I just do shorter main areas type vacuuming on most days, and then a more thorough vacuuming every third day or so (if that makes sense)?
    A

While the PT Ultracide Product Label does allow for reapplications earlier than every 14 days, spraying more frequently will not typically get rid of the problem faster. There are egg cycles that have to hatch that will not all happen at once, and the Ultracide is a residual so its still on the surface for months after each application. You just treat every 14 days for an active flea problem vs every 6 months for prevention. You wouldn't have to do a full furniture move around every day, but doing a good thorough vacuuming before each treatment in that manner is always helpful. In between treatments the normal floor areas you would vacuum are fine. The first spray treatment is primarily for knock down of the initial population and starting the residual control. Your follow up treatment at the 14 day mark would reinforce the original residual barrier you applied and help continue to knock down the population as you vacuum and treat. Often you will see the flea problem gone after the end of 2 treatments 2 weeks apart, but every home and situation is going to be slightly different. Feel free to review our guide on How To Get Rid of Fleas for more tips on treating.

    Q
Can you walk around in bare feet after treatment?
    A

Yes. Ultracide is formulated to be used on carpets in homes where the manufacturer knew people would walk with bare feet, children would sit and play and pets would rest. As long as you follow the product label and allow the treated areas to dry before walking on them there will be no issues.

    Q
Can I spray Ultracide on my mattress while I have it on sheets and blankets?
I have all wood floors and they are jumping on my bed.
    A

It is not recommended to use PT Ultracide Pressurized Flea Insecticide on mattresses, blankets, or sheets.  We recommend that you remove all linens and wash and dry on high heat to kill any existing fleas. While they are being laundered, we recommend spraying your mattress and box spring with SteriFab giving time to completely dry before applying your linens back on the bed. We suggest that you have pets treated for fleas by your vet. Ultracide is great for indoor flea treatments on carpeted, hard-surface floors and furniture. We recommend vacuuming prior to the application and each day for 14 days. On the 14th day, you will vacuum and treat with a second application of Ultracide and vacuum for an additional 14 days. After vacuuming each day, replace with a new bag or empty the canister (if bagless) in a trash bag outside of the home.

I have hardwood floors that stain very easily if wet, will this cause staining? The difference between an aerosol spray on a hardwood floor and the wet spray normally used. Well, the aerosol is safer on the floors and have you tested it?
    A

Ultracide should not be applied to hardwood floors as it is possible the product could stain the finish.

    Q
Does it work on bed bugs ?
    A

PT Ultracide is not labeled for bed bugs. We would recommend Bedlam Aerosol Insecticide for a bed bug issue. We also recommend you check out our Bed Bug Kits, which include the Bedlam. It is usually necessary to treat bed bugs with more than one type of product to completely eliminate them.

    Q
I have fleas in my pole barn with a concrete floor. If I spray the floor would I have to vacuum sweep it?
    A

It is recommended to vacuum 2-3 times a week during flea treatments because the vibrations help the flea eggs to hatch sooner and come into contact with the insecticide or dust treatment.  Even having concrete or wood flooring, vacuuming is still recommended following the application of PT Ultracide Pressurized Flea Insecticide as the vibrations will travel across the floor to help stimulate eggs. Repeat treatments for fleas should be done every 2 weeks.

    Q
Once the product is dry, if the carpet gets wet will the product become toxic to touch again?
Treated carpet is toxic to touch right after application while the product is still wet, and the product stays on the carpet for up to 7 months. Therefore, if, after the product has dried, the carpet gets wet at some point (water spills on it or it gets rained on) will it become toxic to touch until it is dry again?
    A
PT Ultracide Pressurized Flea Insecticide does not reactivate if it comes in contact with water once dry.
